I need help (Poly limit?)

Hey everyone! I'd like your opinions on if this is done or not! It's currently at 12,119 polys (not sure if that's low enough) but I think I'm ready to begin my first bake. It's gonna be hard with all the little parts :/ -Yams

    12,000 isn't too high. It is a bit above normal, though I can't see it posing a problem in modern games. Looks good though. ;)

    Keep the grooves on the barrel which is the blue tube that I think you're talking about. The grooves stick out too much for you to just bake them on a regular cylinder.

    To all you bakers out there: Would you recommend making the blue tube just a cylinder without the grooves or would the bake look weird?

    Well, if you want this to be in any game, and you want to make a nice low poly version, you should lower the polys some more. There are a lot of parts that wont be very visible in-game where you could remove some. Use that first person screenie to use as a reference. I would say you could take some out around the main blue tube thing, and the part in front of the trigger (below the crystal things) can be lowered quite a bit. Also, the part where the purple wires that are coming out at the end (closer to you) is way to high-poly, because you probably wouldn't be seeing it in-game. Also the purple cone type thing at the end could be reduced some more. Or you could just completely remove some unnecessary parts that probably wouldn't be seen in-game.

    havent seen this model in awhile. keeping it a secret work eh? it still looks amazing. maybe find some spots to lower the poly but otherwise it looks like a perfect, better version of the wunderwaffle.
