Puyo Tetris Mod Manager - A Modding Tool for Puyo Puyo Tetris

Updates

1.0.2.0 4y
  • BugFix Properly handles one-click install link
I was expecting links like pptmm:gamebanana .com/tools/download/6381,gb_itemtype:Type,gb_itemid:00000
instead of pptmm:gamebanana .com/tools/download/6381,Type,00000
PTMM now supports both formats. Sorry for the trouble :S
1.0.1.1 4y Tweak PTMM 1.0.1.0 4y BugFix Improvement
Since no other mod manager has come forward yet, I made this one. It's not perfect, but it gets the job done. At least, this will hold us over until a better one comes out. It does support one-click installation of mods. The schema is pptmm and it requires the item type and item id.  believe updating mods is possible, but I haven't been able to test it out.

To set it up, copy the contents from the folder PPT Mod Manager to the directory that Puyo Puyo Tetris is installed. Run it as administrator to register URI handling. Then you can either drag mod archives onto the main window or you can use one-click links to install mods from GameBanana.

Mod Makers, Read:

Puyo Tetris Mod Manager expects mod archives to contain the same file structure the game uses. For nearly all mods, this means the root of you zip/rar/7z should have a data_stream folder. If the data_stream folder is in a sub-folder of the archive, you have packaged it wrong. PT Mod Manager uses a meta.json file to store relevant information, but if you're distributing your mod on GameBanana, there's no need to include it. One-click downloading automatically generates a meta.json file. If you have a specific reason to include the file, go for it. But it's not required. Really, you're just asking for trouble by including it. Just don't do it.

ToDo:
  • do operations using a background agent so the program doesn't appear to freeze
  • Give the user options when a mod conflicts with another mod
  • Clean up code

For some reason this doesn't work with me nothing ever gets downloaded by this. I tried the Sonic mod made by Tracker_TD and that didn't work so I tried the Mean Bean Machine voices and that didn't work either.

Getting an error when I try ticking a mod, saying it couldn't find part of the path C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\PuyoPuyoTetris\Storage\data_steam\data\cutin\cutin_2p

Still works if I continue, but it doesn't save the state of the selected mods if I reopen the manager, and disabling the mods doesn't actually disable them. Meaning I have to re-validate the files to get the vanilla game back. Even if I manually edit the json to say they're not active, the files stay edited.

Thank you for adding this! Let me add the 1-click links.

Are there any requirements for the archives? I can make the links appear or not appear depending on your requirements.

BTW I had to reset the license field as there was a form element in there blowing it up.
