I'm making dev textures, but they do not show up normal in Hammer with the thumbnail.
The texture itself does work however.

    What dimension is the texture in? make sure its a power of 2 such as 65,128,512 and so on, that maybe it?

    What is it supposed to look like?
    Thumbnails don't account for translucency, so it'll look off if you're using any.

    Don't know exactly what's going on here because there's not much information, but just remember that a material can have a $basetexture which will be used in game and in the editor, but a $tooltexture can de declared also to override what the material looks like in hammer.  It is used for things like Clip and Skybox which have no basetexture to represent them.
