"Doing it wrong" knife replacement

I'm doing it wrong.

A while ago I had the pretty funny idea of replacing the knife with an AWP. Smacking people with the butt of an AWP rather than using it for it's long-ranged purpose just sounded funny. So, I decompiled the AWP world model and the knife view model, that went fine. Opened them up in Milkshape and replaced the knife with the AWP, everything seemed to be going fine. So, I go to compile it, which gives no errors. Everything seemed fine, but then I go in-game and see my hands holding nothing. I had no idea what was wrong, so I opened it up in HLMV and the AWP's rotated 180 degrees behind me? Any halp on this? I'd show you a pic but I've replaced my knife already. :l QC:
$modelname "weapons\v_knife_t.mdl" $model "studio" "knife_t_reference.smd" $model "hands" "hands_reference.smd" $cdmaterials "models\weapons\w_models\w_snip_awp\" $cdmaterials "models\weapons\v_models\hands\" $surfaceprop "default" $illumposition 8.418 -2.675 -4.874 $sequence idle "idle" ACT_VM_IDLE 1 snap rotate -90 fps 12.00 $sequence draw "draw" ACT_VM_DRAW 1 snap rotate -90 fps 45.00 $sequence stab "stab" ACT_VM_HITCENTER 1 snap rotate -90 fps 35.00 $sequence stab_miss "stab_miss" ACT_VM_MISSCENTER 1 snap rotate -90 fps 40.00 $sequence midslash1 "midslash1" ACT_VM_HITCENTER 1 snap rotate -90 fps 55.00 $sequence midslash2 "midslash2" ACT_VM_HITCENTER 1 snap rotate -90 fps 55.00
Thanks in advance. Update: Image loading... I know that isn't the AWP but I'm having the same problem with this Katana.

I've tried all of those. I tried recompiling it again with no rotations and it ended up rotated by 90 degrees, so I though, well that should just be rotate -90. I put that in the .qc then it went 180 degrees behind me again. So, I tried 90 and it was still 180 degrees behind me. I really have no idea what's happening here. Edit: I think it's a problem with either the decompiler or the compiler. I just tried decompiling and compiling the original knife without doing anything to it and it came out backwards again. In mdldecompiler I've tried having "Do not fix rotations" on and off, but both times it's come out backwards.
