I'm pretty sure this mod already exists somewhere, but since LunaAlex64 requested it and no one's supplied it, I threw together my own.
No Bloom Gecko Code (grabbed from Heroes Hacking Central Discord): Name: Disable Bloom Creator: gamemasterplc Description: Completely removes the bloom effect. Code: 044978f0 60000000
I grabbed the Dolphin gloss textures from AeroIncarnated's Encore mod. If there's anything I missed or screwed up with the gloss textures, let me know. Hot take but I like the gloss so I won't be testing this mod extensively. I also labelled the texture folders so if something is wrong it shouldn't be too hard to figure out which texture needs to be deleted.
I've found a few issues when removing the bloom, oof.
- Shadow doesn't glow during Chaos Blast/Control and the other visual effects of them are also invisible - Explosions don't appear (but their distortion effects do) - Black Doom hologram is invisible in the cutscene after Westopolis Neutral - The forcefield around the Black Arms ship doesn't appear in Lethal Highway - Some Black Arms weapons' projectiles don't appear correctly - Lit screens disappear, like the maps in Lost Impact - Techno levels lose their colored lights, causing some platforms to be completely invisible - Some texture transparency stops working at times, mainly dust or smoke from explosions and such, but also the windows and trees in the white house cutscenes and the picture of Sonic and Shadow in the president's office - Lasers become invisible, making certain areas difficult - Etc
I don't know how the bloom effects work in this game, maybe they're textures being loaded as light sources and disabling the bloom ends up disabling all of those textures as a result?
TL;DR: It breaks a bunch of stuff. Maybe there's a way to significantly lower the bloom effects without outright disabling them?
(Also, removing ALL the gloss breaks Omega's textures, but I fixed that by removing the 'black,' 'gold,' and 'red' folders from the zip)
