A different vol_light texture.

Nothing special, just a new vol_light texture. You can change the colour, transparency (alpha), scroll speed and scroll direction easily in the VMT. $alpha 0.05 - Change this to change the transparency. The texture is already quite transparent, but it was still quite strong at full alpha. Values are float from 0-1. $color "{255 255 235}" - Change this to change the colour. RGB, 0-255. You can also use float 0-1 but change the brackets to square brackets "[" and "]" (e.g. "[1 1 0.95]"). texturescrollrate .05 - This is how fast the texture scrolls. Again, 0-1 values where higher is faster. texturescrollangle -90 - This is the scroll angle. -90 is directly downwards. sinemax 0.025 - Maximum value for the sine wave output (maximum alpha value in this case). sinemin 0.01 - Minimum value for the sine wave output (minimum alpha value). sineperiod 10 - How long (in seconds) it takes to go from the minimum to the maximum value. Installation: Simply drop the materials folder into your cstrike folder (../steam/steamapps/username/counter-strike source/cstrike).

    People should really make more of these! The cutoff at the bottom is a bit annoying but you can make it look good by clever usage. Good job! :)

    Shame you can set material A as the texture and material B as the alpha, would be handy. Alternative would be to scroll the texture sideways and include an alpha mask to make the bottom edge softer. Combine that with a simple sine proxy to fade it in/out slowly would work okay I think.

    yeah, this is a really nice texture, but as you and carma said, the way it touches the floor isn't so good... but it's a good texture! 9/10

    Yea I didn't like how it cut off so sharply at the floor, but to fix that I'd need to animate the entire thing with hundreds of frames instead of just scrolling it, which isn't going to happen asthe file would be several MB large.

    Not bad. There could be more better detail on the end if the texture between ground and light. But it's nice. Useful. For day maps when sun shines. And by the way, i was looking for some textures like this. I couldn't find any from game, i mean i did found few but they're stupid.
