Medics to match Wile E Coyote's player skins
So you've found a great server: one that doesn't use sv_pure so you can use your full range of customisations, has a decent player base, a good map rotation and doesn't force Quake sounds down your neck. But alas, they use the medic modification, but are such a good server you overlook it. However, the default skins for the medic mod are quite hideous, and clash with basically every custom set of player skins out there. That's basically the situation that led me to whipping up these: medic skins tailored to be used with any of the awesome skins by Wile E Coyote and the "Day of Defeat: Visual Upgrade" pack.
The various medic extremities are based on real armbands and helmets used by the US military and Wehrmacht medics in WWII, with a little artistic license to conform to the player models. Whether or not you actually care about the medic class, installing this should at least make the medics consistent with the rest of the team if you are using any of Coyote's player packs. Though there's nothing stopping you using it with other player skins as well.
Just don't shoot them in the head as when separated from the person, the helmets don't retain their new textures but revert to the generic helmet textures.
I'm not too happy with the German helmet, but it was a right git to get anything resembling my reference, so it will have to do.
- This package replaces the textures for the medic class. The medic class is a custom modification that is used on some servers. This package only includes replacement textures, not the full modification.
- These skins are meant to be used alongside player textures developed by Wile E Coyote; for these packs, visit www.wiledod.com
- The texture resolutions are the default sizes, and will use whatever bumpmaps are already in use on the client.
- Filenames for the medic may vary across servers, however, these should still work if you appropriately rename and relocate the files as necessary
