Use the one from my WIP. It looks sooo much better.
A ported, patched, phong-mapped and shaded texture for the scattergun to make it look close to how it did at launch, and a little better in some areas.
More of an experiment for now, but I think it looks great so far. Still learning how to properly phong-map. I mean, I could make the barrel a bit smoother, but it does compliment the long-used feel well.
I will be making other weapons, and am planning on releasing a pack called "Better than 2007". It will be default models with the textures and shading from 2007, or at least the coloration and style. I love the metallic, and long-used look the old weapons had. Gave them a lot more character and was more pleasing to the eye. I also will be working with a few of the non-stock weapons. But don't expect too much for a while. Keep an eye out for a W.I.P. page.
Inspecting it really shows how dated the 2007 texture is by today's standards. Perhaps I will improve it in the pack. Outside of taking a screenshot in the middle of inspection, the mod looks really good in my opinion. I like how it turned out.
If I can get my image editing software to hide the alpha channel while I work with textures, I may do a 100% faithful port of the classic texture. Still may clean up that barrel phongmap a bit.
