Extraordinary special thanks to LeonelC for allowing me to use his upscaled textures, so now the model has a bit more of detail, and sorry for taking a whole year to improve this, I was busy!!
After this release, the only possible step is to fully redo the UV and textures, but that goes far from my current skills.
Also, someone with enough time and the patience of a saint could fix the vertex weight of the head lids, because for me that is out of question...
Finally an alternative to Sproily and DiamonD's Controller

I was disappointed that after all these years only Sproily and DiamonD did a new model, but I'm not a fan of it ( because not only due the noise and the orange tone that have their textures, but also because it has zero detail at the brain), until BMS did their own ( and then Human Error did as well, but lets gonna say...is too different ).
So, I just took the original model, raised the polys, did new UV maps, made bigger the textures with Waifu2x ( such blessed tool ) and rolled all of them into three-four textures. Also, added eyes and made the prong part of the brain to glow.
On this new version I improved a bit the smoothing & mesh, fixed some UV errors and used Gearbox's PS2 Vortigaunt viewmodel arms for the arm meshes. Also, LeonelC allowed me to use their upscaled textures so now the Controller textures has a bit more of detail.
The only negative aspect is that due GoldSource not tolerating multiple vertex per bone when rigging, there are times when it may look bad ( mostly the dead animation, but it may happen in between frames ).
Feel free to use this on your own mods / packs or even to further improve it, just credit me.
Um... I mean it's not bad but I've got some criticisms
Pros: - The optimized UVS look better and will load faster since the game has less texture maps to load - The resized texture looks much smoother and more high quality - for the most part the turbosmooth worked pretty well
Cons: - The eyes look kind of like they're floating above the texture. Maybe if they were actually modelled into the mesh? instead of being separate spheres - The eyes would probably look better if they were actually textured and UV'ed - The thumbs look stubby, which is probably a side effect of the Turbo smooth - The smoothing on the loin cloth looks... bad. It would probably make more sense to model this part rather than trying to smooth it out, that way it would look more sharp and well defined rather than scrunched up
