A while back, I recreated a section from HDTF's gunship train defense section in Opposing Force called "Hold Down The Fort" to try to do better while still having similar ideas (defending against gunship attacks with friendly grunts helping out + train slowly deteriorating as the fight goes on), it was alright I think.
During the recreation, I also tried to fit in with the theme by redoing the classic HL weapons to look similar to their HDTF counterpart. Stuff like the Beretta is used instead of the Glock, the 9mmAR is silenced, etc. I'd say it didn't look too bad aside from the sniper looking far from a proper AW. Of course, since the map itself only used a couple of the "recreations", I didn't bother putting in the other replacements as well, however, I still wanted to get these out there.
And so, here we are, the other weapons that didn't get in "Hold Down The Fort", updated too for GB (9mmAR now has proper "scope", Deagle is replaced by Colt). Included also are some modified original models that I gave sound events.
+ 9mmAR is darker, Gearbox's deploy2 mistake removed, firing sound uses the silenced pistol fx, scope added to the top. + Beretta replaces the Glock, modified to still use classic anims, orange grip, sprite replaced. + 357's underbarrel removed, color lightened up, sound events added. + Crossbow has magazine face added, sound events added. + Colt replaces the DE, darkened and greyscaled metal. + Grenade has sound event added, no other changes. + Knife uses modified world model for view, sleeve colored blue. + An attempt at AW replaces the M40A1, muzzleflash added, firing sound replaced. + RPG has back extended, sound events added. + Satchel Radio has sound events added, no other changes. + SAW has barrel replaced for a chaingun-like thing, firing anims changed to reflect, firing sound replaced, sprite replaced. + Shotgun shape changed to look longer, grip changed, colors changed to semi green, sprite replaced.
