This is a recreation of an early and lost model of the overwatch soldier seen in pre-release pictures.
It is intended for use in retail levels of Half-Life 2. I hope you'll like this one. If you have some issues or suggestions write them down in the comment section please.
It comes with two separate downloads. First one replaces just overwatch soldiers and second one replaces overwatch soldier and nova prospekt soldiers.
It comes with the early combine sounds thanks to TheGrill.
Feel free to use it for you mods (if so, add my, CrazyBubbas and TheGrills nick to the credits). Big thanks to: CrazyBubba for animations from the leak and to everyone who supported me in making this skin.
This is really cool! I never noticed that that soldier was different!
Hey how good are you at rigging animations? I ask because this beta bullsquid model got leaked not too long ago, and It could work very well in Black Mesa. http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=750033957&searchtext=bullsquid
Could you give the shotgun soldiers slightly different colored eyes so you recognize them easier in combat? That would really take it a step further than all the other beta Combine recreations out there. Maybe have the Nova Prospekt replacement have different eyes than the standard variant as well.
Are... Are you sure that's a recreation? Cause that looks identical!
Is this real? Am i inside a computer where skins can be made to look exactly like the original? Am i dreaming? Is the holocaust fake?- wait what.
Anyways, this is a damn good skin, only criticism i have is that the sounds are incorrect, they were made for the 2003 version of the Combine Soldier which is the version found in the leaked beta (The sounds that this one used can be found in the leaked files) but for the skin... Are you sure it's a recreation? I do not know weather to praise this skin or call valve and tell em a person stole their model (Joke).
I don't think you need to wait for the author's permission to include the early Combine sounds since he actually isn't, well, the author. These sounds were all made by Valve and thus can be used as you please.
