Improves the appearance and rimlight on most of the stock weapons.

Remember when weapons used to look just great? Back in 2013, for example. Especially the metallic ones, which aren't even close to look like so anymore.

Their visual downgrade started back in 2014 with the "Love & War" update when weapons were getting re-converted into the "c_models" system, concluding the process in the "Gun Mettle" update the next year.

If you too paid close attention and realized of the changes, and would like to get back the artstyle's visuals on those weapons, this mod is for you. The mod includes ".VMT" files for all Primary & Secondary weapons, and for some Melee ones. It also includes optional files for 'Dragon Slayer' weapons in case you would like to improve their appearances too.

    This is an interesting take on restoring the art style. It is like 2007 but with no texture change and no over-shine. I like it. Valve really should have stuck with the original style style.

    Hi,

    Firstly, I'd like to say thanks for the mod. It's a great one!

    However, even with the 1.3.1 update I am still getting the bug in which no skins load and item icons are stuck endlessly using the TF spinning logo. I've tried the mod with and without other mods (even then, these were just HUDs and sounds).

    Not sure what's going on, as it worked for a little bit after the update. As before (pre 1.3.1), loading in to a game before viewing your backpack or any class loadout screens seems to fix this.

    Since that's the case, I'll understand if you don't want to fix the issue (unless it really is an issue on my end for some reason).

    It works but my backpack for some reason doesn't work and when I remove it, my backpack does work. IDK WHY IT DOES THIS (doesn't work with Cases and My skinned Shotgun)

    That was the 1st mod I ever installed on my TF2, needless to say it didn't work for me for some reason (I had no other mods back then aside this one)

Rewrote the .VMTs, mixing parameters/values between the old "v_"/"w_" materials and the new "c_" ones.
