an add-on for OSJC's arm reskins v2.1; the commando sleeve skin for hand16.jpeg
I decided the straight skin texture on the arms in rtcw just looked wrong on the hand model as it was designed for a glove type texture.
the model left an ugly join where the arm/glove bit joined so simply adding a sleeve texture on the arm looked awful, like bj had a skin glove on or something, so what should be done?
simple, add a sweater texture that also covered the edge of the hand/glove, better imititating a sweater sleeve...
its still a bit clippy and odd when reloading sometimes, but adds a much better lok to the sten's idle frames!
Dude, I love arm skinning! but I must say, the sweater thing is not a arm2.jpeg skin but a fix of the earlier hand16.jpeg which I thought was kind of necessary. And it busted my balls man! 3 days stright getting it this good and I'm not really sure what more I could do, I'm a little suprised to see you feel it neds more detail, not sure what more could posibly be added and it does fix the ugly 'sten arm view' issue. I actually was planning more sleeves for the arm2.jpeg too (different period camo patters etc.) and fingerless olive green knitted gloves have been floating around my mind too (having trouble with the knitted texure for these), I just wish there were more skin artists working on rtcw, Truthfully I'm just a novice and am finding this all rather out of my league/skill-base!
as for the mg42 and tesla I too have tried many times but have never been satisfied.
They seem to be a real challenge.
also what else needs reskining realisticly? the arms/hands and weapons were obiously vital as the originals were so poor but most textures from the rtcw game of the year edition are damned good quality! Thats what inspired me in the first place rtcw has always been a beautifull looking game and just needed some things improved to give a more consistant look... not that i'd turn anything that looked better down but I'd struggle to do better myself...
