Update for pl_dbheights

Hello all, This is an update of pl_db_heights Thank you to everyone that has supported this version. It's good to see that what has been done here is finally accepted. New version will be up very soon that will include major revisions of the first stage as well as fix minor problems of all 3 stages. Thanks again!     Aww beat me to it (by 5 months XD) i was to busy looking for a decompiled cp_dustbowl i didn't notice this. looks good! i ill have to try it.

    Pros: Great gameplay Cons: 1: First section needs some work done to the area where the ground was changed. Looks kinda like rubbish :/ 2: Change how the map is set up for map voting from how the default map was, it's kind of annoying when it just up and changes the map once it's completed, heck, we don't even get to vote on the next map by then normally. This is done in the Map Properties 3: You can shoot flames through the chain link fence at the last point of the final stage. Improvements: Fix the above and all should be good from what we could see. Notes: We put this map in our server rotation. Also, it would be best to just rename it pl_dustbowl to be honest, if noone else already has done so with their map that is, if so, pl_dustbowl_heights because not everyone knows what db stands for...

    Pros: Changes are very considerate of gameplay. Good work on tweaking the areas that needed the most help. Cons: This version of the map doesn't feel as "finished" as the previous version. The changed areas have more a custom feel rather than a completed, valve made, map. Improvements: In the 2nd area (your 4th screenshot I believe), with the building by the first point - the bombs upstairs are not solid. Notes: I'm putting this on my server. I'll let you know if there's any more useful feedback. Good work.

    Thanks, Great inspiration! Ive come a long way since the first version and hopefully I can get this to a final resting place b/c i still fell like its not close yet. I will definitely work on the changes you said, they were things i had in mind too plus more. Thanks again.

    All you have done is good, but i still find it a bit cheap just changing the game type of a map.

  • We've been getting complaints of substantial FPS loss from the previous version. Not sure why you updated the map, as I thought it was great as it was, but, as the creator, it is your perogative. ;) We have seen Blue having a much harder time making it to the end on each stage over the previous (final?) version. You may have swung the balance a bit too much in favor of Red... I'm curious as to why you walled off the left tunnel near point 1-1? I think that left tunnel needs to be reopened in order to spread the attack out from more than two chokepoints. Or, at least have a breakable barrier in the tunnel to allow access, but only after its destroyed. We will have to give it a bunch more test runs and spend more time on parts 2 & 3 to feel out the subtle changes.

    I like the change especially the floor add in stage 2 part 1, and the little bridge in part2. Part 3 seems nice maybe to easy for offense. But i loved the little windows on stage 1-part2 (that was in the beta of the v1) for the spy it was a pleasure to have a shortcut.
