Surfing, platforming, air control, and a little mind work :)

Never thought I would finish this thing with all i've been through. But the day has come. akai_2 is different from most surf maps. I say this cause it's not just surfing. There is a great deal of platforming, and there are some air control spots. I chose to do this cause I like to mix it up and make things new and interesting. Regular surfing to me is bland and boring, and I like the challenge of something different. And this map, even with my self having made it, is difficult. I hope you all enjoy it. I know some of you won't like this map like the first one since it doesn't involve the same sorta gameplay, but I tried to keep it relative. But if you still don't like it. Email me and let me know. As for that guy who sent me a death threat a few months....i'm still alive! ======================== changes in this version: great reduction in areas that are prone to fall dmg/death some of the platforms have been modified for better ease of use couple "secrets" changes few texture tweaks water is awesome again the map will automatically set the airaccelerate now (unless u run ESTools) fixed some of the lights that players were hitting (you can go through them now, lol) no more spawn jumping added some exits here and there jail has water ramps now terrorist spawn points fixed ======================== Settings I used for playing: tickrate = 66 sv_airaccelerate= 125 anything outside of those and I don't know what will happen. as for akai_3................................ :D

    Pros: A W E S O M E Cons: a bit hard :S Improvements: look edit Notes: OMFG AKAI_2! :O <3 ---edit--- - jail opening system broken. you unlock and open door at one time. do a delay. - i didnt like small amound of secrets(there was tons of secrets in original akai, maybe we have same amount here but thats too little for such big map) - bad code system, some people complain that they're not fast enough to see right symbol. (i like code system from 1st akai when you dont fly down all the time! >:S) - i didn't got meaninig of 'Cube o' doom!'. i'd suggest something like a controllable gun that shoots stuff (exploding cubes for example :D) - didn't like jail overall by some reason... maybe its too empty, theres no place to hide, its more darker than original from 1st akai and makes red warm athmosphere when original makes sunny yellow athmosphere... i suggest make escape system work for 2(or 3) first minutes of round and make a secret way to escape(that works anytime ofc), and also place random stuff like barrels, boxes everywhere to make it more detailed(if you'll do so, you need to change killing system, and add a gun or something like that...) -at eveything else this map is awesome. Counting that map is still under construction, and im fan of akai series, ill give this map 10, but with a hope to see improvements soon! Don't forget - all of this Is My Humble Opinion (IMHO)

    Pros: Unique surf. Looks ok. Theme carried through entire map. Cons: My biggest problem with this map was it was soo fustrating failing once and getting teleported to jail. I have tried it 5 times before posting this and each time it leaves me raging. This is a poor design aspect for any map. For me the this makes gameplay poor and thus effects the fun factor dramatically. Another small issue is the FPS in game. There are areas in the map where my fps drops to 50 whereas other areas run at 150-200. Improvements: I think that this map would be better suited as a skill surf map where the map is split into a series of seperate levels. Notes: Although it looks good, I cannot recommend this map to others.

    You can still spawn jump, and now with the flashbangs and weapons right out of spawn it makes it even worse. It's hard to describe how you spawn jump, but it's similar to last time.

    Pros: Like I said before looks amazing, plays amazing, and is all around original gameplay and a great map. And now that you fixed it up a bit so falldamage isn't as cruel this map should be rated no lower than 10's imo Notes: Great job, looking forward to akai 3 ;)
