This is VIP version (assassination) of my previous map de_hiekka. It has been improved since and 90% of the textures have been changed, more routes added to support assasination mode better and some minor fixes. The defuse verion can be found from here
I decited to make vip-mod version of the map since there arent any good big ones available - or not even smaller ones. I looked the assasination section and it is quite empty. The reason why i made it so different looking is that players can easily spot which version they play.
PS: Hiekka is a finnish word and translates as sand in english.
Design: it's great man!!you got skills!
With these textures...with all props and stuff well placed it make the map look like from other game....damn:P
Realism: The good textures,props and all stuff in it with the HDR and the volumetric fog....make the map feel real man!
Improvements: The only thing that i don''t like and i guess it can be improved...it's the reflection of the water man...there are some maps in here that have great water texture blueish...with a little bit of transparency...but i guess that's me...i like the realistic maps and i'll make an exception for this one;)

That error about decals only appears if you fly in a certain building, outside of the map or high enough inside of it. It doesnt happen in-game while running out there alive and its not a critical error but the way map is created, its hard to get rid off. Thanks for the comments!
I've never been a big fan of the VIP/Assassination mods, but this map is pretty damned good.
Only problem I have with it is the 3d skybox. I thought the choice of textures was rather bland and you didn't correctly scale them down (1/16 or 1/32 size) using the texture application tool.
But your use of detail and props was great.
Maybe had a few too many decals for I got this error constantly in console :
R_DrawDecalsAll: overflowing m_aBatches. Reduce # of decals in the scene.
My favorite part of this map was your perfect use of the tools/playerclip texture, most custom maps are easily exploitable, but this one is even better then the Valve defaults in that regard.
Overall a great job, may even want to update your de_hiekka with these textures for it looks A LOT better without the dust textures.
