A Map for Team Fortress 2

Linear map with 3 capture points set in an oilfield

I'm back with my newest map and this one took about 2 months. It's a linear 3 capture point map with an oil field theme as you can see from the oil pumps. It's a smaller sized map which I'd recommend for 16-24 players. All custom content is made by me, hope you like it. Also I'd like to thank "WhatIsSchwa" for all his tips and suggestions on the layout he gave me as I was working on it. The oil pumps you can see in the screens are animated and move up and down in game for a cool effect. --VERSION 2 CHANGES-- -A lot of bug fixes -Faster final cap -Optimizations -Slower middle cap

    To all the people saying 'theres no such thing as climbable ladders in TF2'...there are plenty of maps that have mods where you 'climb' ladders...see avanti for example!

    Pros: Well balanced. Nicely polished map. Cons: It's hard to ignoreladders that can't be used. And a lot of ledges that look like you can rocket/sticky jump to etc with ease but can't. This really detracts from the map Improvements: Unreachable areas that look reachable and ladders that don't work. Notes: I liked the map lay out itself and if it wasnt for those cons mentioned it would have a slot on our server.

    Pros: VERY balanced, the 3 CP's (instead of 5) really change it up and make this map fresh and fun. We played a PUG on it and most everyone liked it. We had back and forth most the match so I can say its a great map. Cons: Can't think of any, sry. :) Improvements: Add box/crate in the middle pit under the point to crouch jump up instead of stairs. Notes: Great map, can't wait to play another of yours!

We have found it to be a very balanced map with no benefit or hinderance to any one class. Some have stated that spies suffer a bit of a handicap due to the shallow water around the midpoint, as they are unable to go thru that area without leaving a wake or making noise, but that is always true when walking thru any water. I see it as moreso a reason for the spy to avoid the water area when cloaked, than a reason to remove the water... I, personallly like that the water is not deep enough to extinguish flames, and think that the presence of only two small health packs around the middle was the right choice. Small health packs are just enough to keep a player alive, and, if in need of more healing, players must either retreat or proceed forward to find more health... This helps to keep the battles at the midpoint very active and khaotic. We have played it a number of times with between 2 - 24 combatants and found it to be an enjoyable, welll-layed-out map, playable wwith all numbers of players. The one complaint that resurfaced as each new player joined was the presence of the ladders to nowhere. They look like you should be able to climb them and they caused everyone to try. Either make them so they dont go all the way down to the ground if they are merely cosmetic, or, (preferably, IMO) make them climbable and give players access to those upper perches. Adding the vertical element would open the map a bit and make it a even more dynamic. Pros: Fast & frantic gameplay. Small enough for just a few players, yet not too cramped for 24... Great, polished look & multiple paths to the centerpoint. Good balance between the sides. Cons: Aforementioned unclimbable ladders. Nice work!
    There are no such thing as climbable ladders in TF2. It is just a prop. People need to know these things.

    Pros: Absolutely great looks, lot of effort is visible. Cons: Didn't find anything. Improvements: If there are any more bugs (I can't honestly tell), fixing them. Otherwise, perfect work. Notes: I seriously DO hope this map (and some other maps aswell) will once become an official part of some future Valve map pack, just like Steel did. Good work out there!

    Nice work. I don't see anything wrong with the design of the map. Superb work putting this together. I think it would work much nicer if the map wasn't so linear as it doesn't offer much replayability and gets dull. But that's what you were going for I guess.
