This is a freestyle surf map, objective is to kill the other team, pretty straightfoward... This map is still in beta and i realize there are still some things i need to change, i just wanted to go ahead and start getting it out there, any constructive feedback is welcomed.
The gameplay is actually pretty poor. apart from the minimalistic stylization, this map is really nothing special, and in fact is rather dull to play. The harsh white slowly becomes irritating, as aforementioned by krusty, and the slow speed of the surf extends rounds somewhat. needs choke points, so combat gets accelerated. The jail is BORING. It's a box, with four evenly placed dividers. ffs. Could be much better.
Design: The design is really cool with plain and clean textures which makes it looks professional. The lighting fits good as well. The ramps is very well made. I have to say that the design is original and stands out among other boring surf maps with just basic ramps and one texture used. Its almost a 10 but I feel that you could have used some kind of effects too. Try to use the engine to the max!
Fun: Lots of fun. It looks like this map could offer some fast paced hunting, which I'm sure will bring joy to many gamers that playing this map.
Gameplay: Personally, I'm not really into surf maps. Its not like I think they're bad, its just not my style of gaming css. As I mentioned in fun, this map will offer some unique gameplay that I havent seen much of in surf maps, but it could just be that I dont check out so many surf maps :)
Looks: Looking good mate! Looks clean with nice brush structure and the ramps are the best I've seen in a long time to be honest. Too bad there isn't something special that caught my attention, just the whole map itself. Remember to take full advantage of this engine because everyone likes a great looking map, not just the gameplay.
I rate maps from a mappers AND players point of view. i thought the weapon spawners were fine. and i don't know what the problem with the lighting is. i will expand on the optimization, you need to nodraw all the places the player can't see, this will also improve the compile time a lot.
This design is just completely awesome. Nice.
edit: Ok, I have to take that back, as the looks ingame are totally different from the screens. The plain white is very annoying and looks too much like a full-bright map. Also the skybox makes it even feel more cold as it already is.
The weapon-spawners aren't well made, but I guess you have already noticed it yourself as you can see the weapon signs through brushes. That's normal with those thextures, so use normal props?
Play around with the lighting a bit, maybe you can put more contrast in it. Also add some more surf ramps and hard-to-reach-spots. And redesign the jail please, it doesn't fit in there, as you can hide too long and it's a fast map. Maybe just make a jail where you lose your weapons but can go out quickly like I did on my surf_mai_pro (beta).

yeah a new skybox is definitely going to be in place before final release, notice how the one i have now is the default, lol
and i would like to have better lighting, i really havent done that much work with lights to be honest so i think i have some learning and messing around to do with those.
