Rock2 with TF2 styling

[BETA 7 Updated June 2008] This is a ROCK2 Clone, this is the FOURTH Beta release for play test. The way to play is you goto the enemy's warden office and steal their intel, then take the intel to THE ENEMY'S gas chamber to score, then everyone has to seek cover in the water, an airlock or the warden's office Beta 7 Fixes - -Airlocks fine tuned -Gas custom sprite -Widened hallways -clipping fixed -Lighting added -updated many visual issues BETA 4 FIXES - -Airlocks to protect you from gas -Clipping issues -HDR fixed (no longer over-exposed outside) -Text tells you to take intel to ENEMY gas chamber -Gas effect is less annoying -Spawn doors fixed -Middle water area is smaller -each side has one 'broken' elevator that allows the enemy team on the battlements -Intel is stripped if you try to take it to your base -Cubemaps fixed (PS this is my first map :P )

    Pros: Its rock2. You've got it down. Cons: Some corridors are too tight, not well lit, and could use a general revision. Also, I think you're missing soundscapes and a 3D skybox. If you need help on this, shoot me a PM on the SA forums and I'll help you out. Improvements: It really needs a breath of fresh air. Sit down with a pen and paper and draw out what you think the map should be. Don't worry about conforming to what rock2 was. Notes: I never got around to trying this out in the thread, and someone mentioned rock2 remakes in the TF2 thread and I remembered this.

    I was glad to see someone at least try to do a rocklike map, but this one has some problems. I thought most of the hallways and alot of the doorways were just too small. The underground had some nice detail but it seemed too random layout and not direct enough. This map just made me miss the orginal one more. :(

    Pros: Map looks good - decent idea - very similar to gas_kaboom. Cons: The map is very large and difficult to find your way around. Improvements: Provide "you are here" signs around the map so people can see the map as a whole and know where they are in the map. Add a "take intel to gas chamber" text when someone grabs the intel. Provide more health and ammo. Scale down a bit if possible. The map is really large. Your white areas in the map need to be toned down a bit. Holy bright. Notes: Let me know if you update the map. I'd be willing to give it another try.

    Ahh I remember now. If you and the enemy both have the int, you wait until the enemy caps then you cap a second later. Then when the gas chamber door opens from their cap, boom they're dead from your cap. This would require insta-deaths instead of suffocating though.

    I think its too big for tf2, players move slower so a lot of the nuances of the map in tfc are lost in tf2 as there isnt much time spent in those locations havign said that with a full server it is fun and this is a well made map

    Well that's part of the problem here...most people don't read the 'readme' that comes with the maps. ;) If they did, everyone would know how to play the map. Though I never figured out how to make text appear on screen when mapping, it is possible...if a text message could appear saying 'take intel to enemy gas chamber', that'd probably help. I'll keep my eye open for future updates. The map's comin' along.
