This map is the start of a series of maps I will be releasing outlaying a short aperture story.. We meet a new AI (currently the AI's volume is a little low, looking into fixing that.) This is a small map but it is connected already to the 2nd map in the series, this way when I release the 2nd map it will continue just like you were playing the real portal game.
I am switching to this type of modular style mapping so that I can have smaller file sizes and spend more time on the look and feel of each map instead of just the length. since the length should be measured as a series and not a single map.
Included in the map is a commentary [at the end] that only plays if you don't have the next map in the series.

10/20/2007 9:37PM EST - Fixed a Ceiling where you could shoot a portal.. You weren't supposed to be able to shoot one there. whoops!
10/21/2007 6:42PM EST - Changed the Voice Over system to a direct play of MP3's through console.. not only does this save file-space but also you can now hear the voice overs as intended. These changes will also be included with my next map to ensure that everyone with my series has the update. This map is FINAL - No more modifications to the bsp will be made.
The first part of the second puzzle is rather difficult and annoying, where you have to use very finicky momentum to launch yourself into the emancipation grill. Other than that, this map is alright, though the ending was unnecessary and could have been fit into this submission's description.
Very hard map. Exactly what I was looking for. In fact, the only reason I was able to get outta the first room was cuz I had to recall what I was taught in Portal: Prelude. I am definitely interested in being a beta tester if you still need them.
Hmm ok, the first part. Haven't actually finished it. I think I know how I'm suppose to but can't see where to go next.
But armed with sv_cheats 1 and noclip I at least took myself to the second part. Which was surprisingly easy compared to the first one. At least if I didn't use some sort of bug to finish the second part.

This took me about 15minutes to finish, its quite hard, infact its probably harder than any challenge in the normal portal game, u have to get the timing on each puzzle exactly correct, a hit for those who cant do the first one u need to touch the button on the roof
Ok, look I like a good challenge just as much as the next guy but would you kindly give us retards who cant get out of the first room some sort of a guideline? Yeah I've "looked up", I see the button the problem is getting there.
And I have to agree, I also find the AI incomprehensible, subtitles would be fantastic (or failing that a chapter in the readme file with the dialogs transcription).
