This update is a mini-update with the purpose of resolving the problems pointed out by xkonsole.

The biggest change in this version would be the bunker mechanism, which I will explain.

During the actual gameplay using the bunker, this is what I had in mind:
  • Round start: Humans choose either one of the two buildings connected to a bunker, and defend/barricade in that building for 2 minutes.
  • After 2 Minutes: The bunker entrance opens. Humans can now enter the bunker, or try to maintain the barricade in the building.
  • Final Defend: Humans protect the bunker by defending and preventing zombies from touching or passing through the hazard mark. If they fail, the bunker will kill any humans/zombies in the bunker's safe zone. This is intentional, since I want to prevent zombies hiding in the bunker to avoid map nuke.

 I do have to add that the "Safe Zone" part of the bunker that's protected from the map nuke is only the rooms with metal floor.

This bunker is only an ALTERNATIVE choice for humans to survive, and the MAIN choice would be reaching the end through the helicopter.



I've made a diagram that consists of in-game events, that hopefully will be a better form of explanation rather than me typing walls of texts:


I've added a computer desk in the final zone with light indicator that turns green when there are no zombies in the 2nd helicopter. Otherwise, it turns red.

The map linked above was my first ever attempt to combine ZM+ZE into one map. However, I failed to do so. This zm_winter_helicopter is my most recent attempt, and I think this fits in ZM gamemode, rather than my previous submission.

Both this map zm_winter_helicopter and ze_winter_warehouse are the successor of that first version of this map, hence I treat both maps as v2.

Map Description

  • zm_winter_helicopter is a town/city-themed map.
  • Old version was not that good, so this is a remake.
  • This map is inspired by ATIX helicopter.
  • This map combines both ZM aspects (barricading), and ZE aspects (escaping).
  • It has 64 player spawns, some spots to barricade, or to hold.

Map Feature

  • There are many buildings containing one or more barricading/defending spot.
  • Players can choose to play regular ZM by just barricading/defending in a spot (however they would still die by the nuke), or they can escape with the helicopter.
  • There are two helicopters.
  • There is a secret teleport room that can be unlocked with the right code. Different codes will change the teleport destination.

Gameplay Flow

Humans
  • Humans can either choose a spot to defend/barricade just like in regular ZM, or they can go to the roof to enter the helicopter that will approach them after a certain amount of time.

Zombies
  • Attack humans in the barricading/defending spot.
  • Try to enter the helicopter and trigger the nuke before the timer runs out.

Changelog (v1 to v2)

  • The entire map layout is completely different. Rather than lila panic-like buildings, I made a whole new town layout.
  • Changed from daytime to dusk/dawn-time.
  • Helicopter has been changed, I decided to use the prefab made by AuroraF: https://gamebanana.com/prefabs/2742

    well it can be one of the best maps for playing online because you can choose between two different ways to win as humans but when playing with bots it became even more interesting for me because they tryed to kill the zombies but I as the player imagined myself as a captain so now i could stay there and kill the zombies or command my soldiers to stay there and so i can scape alone or i could tell them to follow me but some of them will follow me and some of them refuse at this point  imagined that the soldiers that stayed behind are sacrificing themselves i know it's a stupid and crazy way to play cs.s but i just wanted to have more fun :-)
