A Map for Counter-Strike 1.6

  • Overhaul Vegetation: Reordered vegetation in general, added a new shrub model and more desert grass.
  • Overhaul Illumination: Refined interior fluorescents brushwork and remaked the exterior (spawnzones) fluorescents.
  • Improvement Remaked the entrance gates.
  • Adjustment Cliffs that are parallel to the entrance gates were rectified.
  • Tweak Added a container to the T spawnzone.

Warning: Overviews only work in 4:3 resolutions (1024x768, 800x600 and 640x480). This is a problem of the game.

Grab your gear and get out to fight!

Background:

You and your squad are in what appears to be a shotgun combat arena. Your mission now is to eliminate any threat.

Gameplay:

You got to enter to the armory where you can grab a HE grenade, an M3, kevlar and helmet before going out to the container field.
Make sure that you took your shotgun before going out because the doors wont let you go back.

There are some XM1014 hidden somewhere.

Important note:

I made an alternative version of the map adapted to play with bots. All players spawn fully armed.
Why? Because bots can't intentionally take items. Not to mention taking the items off a shelf.

Map info:

My first full map released ever. Is part of the first group of maps that I started like eight years ago.

During these "quarentine" days I was getting bored and my main WIP was on hold due to certain technical problems, so I decided to reopen another old unifinished map file, this one.

I'm surprised at how this map evolved so nice.

The prefix "sg" comes from "ShotGun".

Plus: An outdated demo.

    I see color of containers  soft, but that's an opinion by reason I prefer strong contrasted colors xd.

    Seeing layout of same looks symmetric, but interesting

    I don't really understand why you've made spawns like that. You could easily set up player_weaponstrip (Name: game_playerspawn) and game_payer_equip (there's a list of weapon, select those which you'd like to use). Then we should disable weapon buiying function by info_map_parameters and choose Weapon Buying - Neither CT's or T's can buy guns.
    Simply, making that will remove 1/2 of this map and make it a lot more simplier and dynamic.
    Regarding mapping itself:
    1. I like what you did with rocks. Imo, making rocks is tough and if you've paid enough attention to them then you have my respect.
    2. Removing spawns will also remove 1.2k w_poly from my eyes.
    3. I'd make those crates and cargo boxes more interesting by rotating them. If you'll select a box and press on it by left button on 2D screen (x/y;x/z;y/z) then you'll be able to rotate it. 
    Aside that, good job. This map proves that you're ready to work and pay a lot of time and effort for mapping.
