Knowledge is power. A shotgun, even more so... A death match map, taking place in a Library in Northern Florida.

A death match map, taking place in a Library in Northern Florida. Notable areas include a study area, a records room, two bathrooms, an entryway, a reception desk, a few vents that lead to different rooms, and several isles of bookshelves. 

This is my first attempt of making a map ever, so please feel free to give me feedback.

    Took a look in game and viewed your entity list. You have a lot of light bulbs in there. Just to show you something i decompiled your map and replaced all but one bulb in one of the ducts using texture lighting.  While not as bright.. it does have a more natural look.  If you want to stay with using bulbs I would only have 1 per and mess with the brightness of them.  Also unless the lights are to be switchable there is no need to name them.

    What tools are you using(hammer(what version), jack, sledge or something else)? Are you using default compile tools or something newer(and better)? If not for the (harsh) shadows I saw in the screenshots I would have thought the map was full bright and RAD never ran. Are you using light entities, textured lighting or both?  I know you are shooting for a bright atmosphere but I think if you play a bit with the lighting it will look much better. For first map it looks pretty good.

    Tried map, got stuck in some sort of no mans land when trying to go out of a couple of the exits, should they not be blocked off, if you know what i mean.

    Hi, small bit of advice, if you cannot build custom wad files into maps, please add a res file. If this map is run on a server it will either crash server or quit player's game as server cannot download the custom wad without a res file.
    Map looks nice by way.
