RuneScape's iconic small town of Lumbridge is brought to life in a brand new way in this Source/TTT re-imagining.
ttt_lumbridge has served as a short side-project and summer diversion for me this past month and a half, and is as faithful of a recreation of 2007-era RuneScape's as I have felt like managing, going to such lengths as to model nearly every model found in game to accurately bring Lumbridge to life in the Source Engine, though I must admit there are certainly some artistic liberties taken and new features to suit TTT and Source in general.
This map is still a WIP, and should receive updates in the future pending player feedback and whether or not I have time to do so. There's certainly a few ideas and easter eggs I'm planning on adding in future versions! (And I definitely want to tackle making the map look even better graphically while still retaining that nostalgic low-res polygonal style)
Optimization has also been a major concern with such an open layout, and while I have tried my best at the time of initial release, there is certainly more I can do, and I am looking forward to seeing how this map fares on lower-end machines.
This map features the following:
- Fully armed for up to 32 players - Entirely filled with custom content, from sounds to materials to models - A Traitor Tester which must first be activated each round by: - The Cook's Assistant Quest (players must gather an egg, pot of flour, and bucket of milk, returning them to the Lumbridge Castle Kitchen to unlock the Traitor Tester in the castle basement) - 2 Traitor buttons to both aid in quick escapes and trap innocents - Nostalgia for those who grew up playing
