Story

Ecologicals Terrorists are back again !
Their target is a laboratory located in the Arctic.

In fact, "Invictus Labs" are doing experiments on plants.
Although it's located in the Arctic, the area has become a real jungle.

Counter-Terrorists must do something before Terrorists explode the base !

Notes

This map took me an awful lot of time.. I began to work at the beginning of January. And it's only now it's over.

The problem is, with school, I can hardly work on it all week. Obviously, it takes a little bit of time in the end...

Anyway, here it is, and it was still pretty fun to do. Especially since I didn't have to do the layout.

Yep, this map is some kind of remake of DE_Season. The layout is almost identical, but the setting is totally new.

Let's talk about the setting : the idea at the beginning was mixing arctic, labs and green houses.

I think the result is pretty nice as we can find the three themes all over the map.

Also almost every textures are custom, only a few are from Half-Life or Counter-Strike 1.6.

I used CS:CZ models and textures, but also textures from Sven Coop and Poke646 (a really good Half-Life mod, you should give it a try) among others.

And it's really playable since the W_Polys are almost always under 1000, except on Terrorists spawn where it's 1100, more or less... No big deal anyway.

    I just see this map, I try it and I want to tell you that I have done an excellent job, I have not seen maps with this style for a long time, the only negative thing on the map is the sound of the metal pipes and stairs and corridors "pipe"

    and another thing, the c4 would have to have more expansion of explosion since it could be stored very close to the event, it is just an opiñon but great work! 10/10

    Okay I finally had the time to make a more comprehensive review of this map. I would like to start off saying this map looks amazing it feels like I'm in Shadow Moses biodome and the thing all at the same time. The map runs incredibly well and I have not discovered any bugs. Everything that should be clipped is. Although you could say that the steps need to be clipped but I would disagree with you I've never been a fan of that. Try running up steps in real life with a gun it's not fun.  Now on to the game play in a competitive environment this map is going to be very difficult to people new to the map just like the original especially on CT side calling rotations at the correct time is absolutely critical because of the distances​ between  sites CTs need to get the entry kills so that team has a chance to take back site and Defuse The Bomb. Let me put it like this the map is like Aztec in reverse just not nearly as difficult as that map was in it's competitive days under cal. Now the best part about this map is T side though so many options of attack. And the ability to change up strategies. At the end of the day it is extremely fun map.

    I played a 32 Bot match, the map looks, performs and plays amazing.
    However there's only one minor issue, stairs, you should clip the stairs.

    "Nice job!" is too poor feedback for this map, let's see the details:

    • Balance
    This map uses plan of de_season, a map on which I, be honest, did not played. Those faults that I noticed, may also exist on the original map, in this case I have nothing to reproach the author, especially, if he did not have a goal to fix the faults of original.
    But anyway:
    One of the ventillation exits made uncomfortable. A player can move through the pipe in full height - that's good, but in one of the holes a rail obstructs overhead and a player must sit down in there place to get out, that makes him easy target.
    Also, I don't understand, how to play for ct on middle there it's quite difficult to throw grenades.
    In the rest all is good, T's comes to any bombplace in 20 sec, overall the map looks balanced.

    • Gameplay
    A map has both large and small areas, a lot of pathways. But, I guess this is all peculiar for de_season.
    A good work has been done on lighting, map has a lot of indoor areas, but I did not find any dark places.
    The only thing that confused me was the models about wich i had to stumble in the warzones. e_poly reduces fps not weaker than w_poly, so models should be used as a last resort, imho.

    • Graphics
    Great work on textures. Locations have a different design, which makes them easy to remember. The only textures that i don't like that's textures of hl-crates, cause they looks blurry. I did not find any texture fails, except the metal rail painted in wall texture on one side, and "fake doors" on CT respawn.
    Also textuters do not have distinctive sounds, even glass has no glass sound, and therefore it seems plastic.

    To give the texture a sound without changing the materials.txt try to give it the same name as the HL texture which has the sound you need, GENERIC150 for example. But you should not use hl.wad.

    But anyway good job!
