Not gonna comment on the gameplay, I suck at KZ and haven't actually had the time to set it aside and go play through it with care so I'mma just note some things about the design without doing an actual rating: Design It's alright, as gibe pointed out, it doesn't get repetative, so that's pretty good.
It suffers from not being outside the box in anyway though, I mean we've seen these concrete textures used in the exact same way for the last 2 years, isn't it time we see something different?
The general additions to the "aesthetic" are lackluster too. There's gaps in the ceiling that are ultimately inconsequential and don't make the map look any prettier or add anything valuable in an aesthetic sense. The colored wall strip things in places are also meh too. Occasionally they look cool, but they feel incredibly slapped onto the walls as opposed to baked in, and I feel this detracts from the overall visuals. The outlined bhop blocks have also been done too many times to count, I guess it's a good way to outline blocks but eh, that specific style of outlining is literally everywhere and it's good to step outside that zone sometimes.
Layout in this map is alright, but every time I'm left feeling like there's something to be desired, you have a minimalist theme, but absolutely none of the layout is memorable nor interesting. I didn't feel in awe of the architecture, and the layout didn't make clever use of verticality in any way. Overall, this is definitely the weakest thing in the design.
The boxes look silly too, they feel like the result of a design decision like this: "Hmmmmm, how do I make this map look PIMPIN FRESH, I KNOW, JUST SO PEOPLE KNOW, I WILL WRITE "KZ" IN BLOCK LETTERS IN BOXES THEN MAKE A BORING PARTICLE WHICH JUST CONSISTS OF A TEXTURE READING "KZ" FLYING ABOUT! THAT WILL LOOK SUPER AWESOME!" I didn't really spot anything else that was particularly of note in the design that stuck out like that, but something cool woulda been nice to see somewhere.
I'mma come back to this within a week when I've had a chance to play through and spectate bits, then add a gameplay section + apply a rating.
i'm glad you released this, it's been a long time coming. the length of the map is sick, it's really cool that you've been able to use this relatively simplistic theme on a map of this size and not have it feel boring or too repetitive at any part. i also like the toggleable soundscapes, wish more people did that.
