As all citizen has been evacuated from Simrad City, This Canal is now a battle area between two sides, US Controls the City side, while MEC has control the industrial side. The Nilam Bridges and an unfinshed Bridges is the only way to cross both sides.
First off. This looks like a decent map. I've been in the community for a long time and seen a lot of customs, this one shows the author(s) have great promise.
Basic Ambiance, seems plain.
Basic Stock Textures.
Mixed statics from multiple regions. Middle eastern + Asia (+ US?) put together always looks out of place to me.
Mixed map theme. Having a resort right next to a refinery seems kind of antithetical. Though I can see that the river seems to divide the industrial and commercial themed districts, I would recommend picking a single theme for the map and going with that. Much like how the BF2 creators did with their maps.
Fresh map idea. Never before seen map design.
Bot support. Always welcome! Anyone can play!
Good layout of statics (buidlings/trees/etc). Even though they're mixed one can tell you put alot of thought into the planning of where they went. Very neat and organized with placement of additional statics that help add detail to environments.
Use some custom textures in there somewhere. Always helps a new map stand out.
Stick to one theme (city, resort, industrial, farm, etc) when creating a map, makes it feel more realistic.
Don't mix static objects from multiple regions. Pick one region (Middle East, China, USA) and stick with it.
Use custom skyboxes for custom ambience, maybe even add some custom ambient sound effects (birds chirping, frogs croaking, gunfire in distance).
Improve in these areas and you'll go from making decent maps to great maps. Maps that everyone who owns BF2 wants in their collection. B)
