A Map for Half-Life 2: Deathmatch

  • New Gameplay elements with sounds ! :
  • You can now teleport between pillars by pressing E (or your custom use Key).
  • Pillars are numbered from 1 to 8 and randomly mixed. You always teleport to the next number.
  • RPG now only on Pillar number VIII
  • Standing on Pillar VII and shooting the angel's Halo will trigger God's protection (Fast health recovery to everyone on the map except on the pillars and arches), for 15 seconds. Can only happen once!
  • Stanging on Pillar VI and shooting the demon upside down cross will trigger Satan's wrath and kill everyone on the map except for players on pillars and arches. Happens only once !
  • Falling of the map now teleports you back onto it
  • Corrected position of some spawn points
  • General Improvement and optimisation

This map is a tiny arena with a very eerie atmosphere.

The gameplay is simple, run for your life, choose your favorite weapon or all of them, fight  and recharge your health in the center !

    Nice update, now the layout is more complete and playable, the new textures are nice, but the question is: how can you reach the top of the pillars? It seems impossible playing with normal gravity. Even if you reach the top of the arches by teleporters, the horses don't let you jump over a pillar. If there is no trick to reach them, all the teleports system is useless.
    Well to access them you need to make a straff jump, I usually play with pro players so there's no problem reaching them and making it a bit difficult is always cool. But maybe I'll find a friendlier way to teleport on them in the next revision !

    A very interesting idea, and very well done, being your first map. Lights, sounds and effects are very engaging.  Just the gameplay is poor, being very small even for 2 players, and so many weapons available, with no covering, means be killed every 2 seconds. :)
    Why don't you plan a larger version too?  Double size, another round of columns internally, to give covering, eventually a perimetral wall, and the map can be enjoyed much more. The idea is nice,  deserves a better gameplay. Keep it up.

    I intended this map to be a dual training at first. I modified it so the purpose was to stay alive the longest while using all the weapons and the healing cross in the center, while making it possible for others to destroy you. I might make a bigger more classic version of it later when I have time, for now, i've got an updated version coming !
