PSYCHOLOGICAL INSTABILITY IS NOT FOR THE EVERYMAN. In order to pass any room in Psychological Instability, you must have finished the main Portal campaign to the best of your ability. These tests require foward thinking.
Psychological Instability is a custom Portal mapset by Jack5 featuring a custom soundtrack, some textures, a new voice-over, and rather tricky puzzles. Since 2014, only one map has been available, despite a second being buried deep in Jack5's folders. Now with the release of version 1.1 in 2017, this second, unfinished map has been made available to play, containing chamber 03. Extract the contents of the RAR file into Steam\Steamapps\common\Portal\portal then open Portal's Bonus Maps section to find the Psychological Instability collection. The transition between maps is seamless, so picking Chapter 1 is recommended.
The original soundtrack for Psychological Instability is out now and can be bought, but then again you could always cheat and grab the music from the sound folder. Not all of the songs from the soundtrack are in the current version of Psychological Instability.
Version Information pre-1.1
v1.02: Bug fixes in first and second chamber. Songs from the original soundtrack added.
v1.01: Bug fixes in first chamber. Second chamber released.
Just got the map just for lols. Whilst reading the description, it made it sound near impossible, as portal ninja's would be speedrunners.
So I played it, and it was... pretty easy as I could say. It could probably need more tests, tests that would go out of the ordinary.
Now, going into the details of the map, the textures are well done and in the right place, as opposed to one whom places them to make a random map. The tests, as they were, weren't that difficult. One who identifies can easily understand what should be done, like a normal test chamber. For example. There's a button in a room, and a button in glass. One who just looks thinks the button moves the glass, and one who identifies, can see it leads to the door. But on the first trial, music is heard and there's ticking, they run, but there are portalable surfaces to be used upon.
All in all, this as a pretty good map.
I rate this a 7/10.
