============================================================================= Title : Escape from Castle Wolfenstein Filenames : w3d.zip & w3d.txt (this file) - please distribute them both freely, but together. Authors : The_Pirate - map & scripts Vicpas - additional scripting, entity placement & testing Mazedude - remake of the original music Email Address : Kim_Pirat@mail.tele.dk Vicpas1@gmail.com Mazedude@aol.com Misc. Author Info : Just 3 Wolfenstein lovers... Description : When a mapper gets bored and run out of ideas, what do you do? Usually a remake of Doom E1M1. But... what started the FPS genre before Doom? Wolfenstein 3-D! This is my modest tribute to W3D, and all the happy hours i spent playing it. Additional Credits to : ID Software. For the wonderful games they make, and for letting us play along, sharing their efforts with us, behaving like friends, instead of infesting their software with DRM and treating us as thieves... ============================================================================= * Play Information * Unzip and place the w3d.pk3 in your ./wolfenstein/main/ directory along all the other .pk3's. Start game by pulling a terminal (usually done by pres- sing the 'tilde' key) and writing: /spdevmap w3d Map # : E1M1. Replacement for 'Escape1' Single Player : Yes Cooperative 2-4 Player : No Deathmatch 2-4 Player : No Difficulty Settings : Through game engine. New Sounds : No New Graphics : Yes New Music : Yes Demos Replaced : None * Construction * Base : The original W3D E1M1 map. This map sticks closely to the original X-Y dimensions. However, the 'Z' is pwn3d by me... Editor(s) used : GtkRadiant 1.4 for Linux Known Bugs : The secret exit ends in nothing. The secret map, called 'w3d_sec' hasn't been created. Yet. Who's first? :) * Copyright / Permissions * Original copyright of W3D: ID Software 1992 Original music by Robert Prince. The remake, "Nazi Requiem", is made by Mazedude, and can be found in full quality on OverClocked Remix (http://www.ocremix.org/). Please also visit www.mazedudemusic.com - that's where he earns his bread. * Where to get this .PK3 * ...Well, where did you find it? :) Google is your friend. If everything else fails, you can find it, along with the source code on my low-bandwith server: http://pirat.snotboble.net * Important Notes * Please give the original authors credit for their work, if you build on this. This map is under the GNU Public License. Use it as you like, under the conditions of the GPL. Before you use Mazedude's music, please get his permission.
