A Map for Counter-Strike 1.6

A sunny map, I must have high temperature or somethin'...

Story: Workers of the town, Terrace Hill, are being worked like ants, while barely having a spoonful to swallow, are spat on by the upper class citizens and feel like it is time to return a sucker punch. Counter-Terrorists: Protect the public square and the city hall, or annihilate the opposite force. Terrorists: Destroy the public square or the city hall near the T.H. Winery. Now, about the map. It must be the lightest one I built in all my mapping time, but this time I implemented some other things, old and new. Sprec. Features: - Fake HDR - Model Shadowing - 3D Skybox Hope you enjoy it. Imagination and work :P Go download bsp viewer, and open the map with it. Put the render mode, which is under options/view, to transparent, or something, and you will see how I made the brushwork in a bit more, better, detail. Also, I advise experimentation and practice. But just to tell you, a lot of vertex manipulation will be needed to achieve those results. There are some tuts under the Source/CS:S/HL2 category (yea, even the source engine ones will come in handy, since GoldSrc and Source are similar in many ways, at least when it comes to brushwork) like the one by captain0terror(barrels) which might come in handy, also quite a lot under GoldSrc, HL1 and CS1.6 sections like shash7s and you could check out TWHL.info for additional tuts, and believe me, there are a lot of them, and they are great. Btw, the barrels are somewhere here on GB, under the Prefabs section (either for HL or CS1.6). Use prefabs to understand how they were made, it comes in handy quite often, but always try and stay original, or at least as much as you can. That is all I can say. Good luck.

    Thx for your opinions mates, much appreciated. And yea, they are in the same genre should I say it that way, but it is just a matter of me not being satisfied enough with my previous maps, and I wanted one map with a brighter environment, like this one. About the 3d skybox, well yea, it does seem strange, but it is because GoldSrc is quite old, and it couldn't have been made differently (I could, but the r\_speeds would be horrific). Anyways, thx :)

    **Pros:** - Lot's of detail. The map is full of nice architecture. - Ambience is used well, textures look great. - The environment around the actual playable map looks very good. Plenty of miscellaneous structures and designs. **Cons:** - I'm not sure if this is a personal opinion or if others feel the same, but I think it would benefit to add things like crates or other random props to provide more cover, whether it's to assist with CT's protecting the bombsite or for T's planting the bomb. **Notes:** - Not really a con nor suggestion for improvement, but I feel that the distant buildings when looking over the railing from CT spawn look a little strange. I see what you were going for by decreasing the size the greater the distance they were, but like I said it looks strange to me. (Just a nitpicky opinion, not bashing you at all! :D) Overall, great job. This will make for a fast paced match that could have a decent competitive edge to it. I feel like most of your maps almost have a "film noir" feel to them, which I really like. I think it's very unique for the mapping/gaming world. At the same rate I do feel the same as shash. It seems your themes can be reoccuring, but I don't think that takes away from the quality of maps you've created

    Its about time I post a review over here. ###Pros - Lovely texture work - Great design - Good fast paced gameplay - Nice lighting and atmosphere ##Cons - Too many narrow spaces and congested spaces - Too much geometric design - Bloom effect is gimmicky - Too much of the same eh?(more of a personal opinion) I absolutely loved playing this map. It feels quick and snappy just like my playing style. However, it quickly gets converted into a slugfest if more than 16 players join in.
    Oh and I also liked the hidden features like the climbable pipe.

    Other than that, please make unique maps next time. I am seeing you are making maps on the same theme over and over again.

    **Pros:** - Lightning - really looks like a sunny and tiresome day - Brushwork - makes the world feel more alive - Textures - original,makes this map different from others - Gameplay - fastest map for me to learn (from yours) **Cons:** - HDR - nice try,but goldsrc is too old - Roofs - maybe a bit more detailed - Default decals - bad choice,better make another texture with signs on it - Sniping - map is prettty bad for sniping **Notes:** - A 9.5/10 map I would play with my buddies
