Tfdb Catland version 1.
This map is for Team Fortress 2’s Dodgeball mod.
The map takes place in the middle of nowhere in a forest. The forest is a façade for a secret underground missile launch facility. The missile can be seen by looking through the slightly opened blast doors on the ground.
The look of the map is sort of a mixture of TF2’s Lumberyard and Harvest maps. Originally a forest skybox was going to be used but it might have been too hard to see the rockets so this orange skybox was used instead.

PS: This map was made in 3 sittings and was my fastest-made map to date.
PS2: Like my Train-Falls map, this map was named before I implemented its crazy gimmick. In both situations I decided against it in the end. I leave it up to speculation what could have been the gimmick of a map named Cat-Land.

I always compile the release candidate with HDR. However from experience I know when someone asks about HDR they’re wandering because they want to use the map in SFM. If this is the case, I’ve gotten mixed feedback on the subject. Some say the maps need to be recompiled I SFM’s hammer for HDR, some say it just works. I’m no expert so I don’t know. People seem to decompile and re-compile to get the results they want for SFM. If someone wants to do so with one of my maps, I don’t mind as long as I’m credited somewhere for my part in the final video/product.
