A detailed map with open space and interior areas

DM_Railyard is a map with big open space areas, close combat areas and filled with objects. Weapons and ammo are spread over the map, so healthkits and batteries are. A Combine train in will, randomly, run along the centrail rail on this map and crush everything in it's way. One signal gives a idea from what direction the next one will come. RUFUSE and HOTEL letters can be detached by explosives or with Gravity Gun. This map is also able to be used in Team Deathmatch. Due it's filesize it's hard to be downloaded from the servers directly. To provide such a detailed map it was necessary to use custom content which increased the filesize.

    Very nice map, detailed and immersive, maybe just a little dark, especially in enclosed areas. Very nice the effect of the passing train. Keep up the very good work!

    Lots of open space, plenty of stuff to do, doesn't feel like you are boxed in, wonderful ambience, all combined to make an awesome deathmatch map. Keep it up!

Development Info

Notes
This map uses a lot of Half-Life 2 leak brick textures, some Half-Life 2: Episode 2 models and textures, one texture from Day of Defeat: Sourece and a lot of custom made content made just for this map. The idea behind this map was to create a outstanding detailed and realistical atmosphere by using real references for various buildings and writing special soundscapes fitting to the map's setting.
