based on My Little Pony: Friendship is Magnets

This map is a replica of Appleoosa including an huge open area and the buffaloo camp in proper distance.

My primary goal has been to create Appleoosa as good as possible in Hammer by using the Episode "Over a Barrel" of the Show "My little Pony: Friendship is Magic" as reference. Additionally, there are several secrets as well as interior in all buildings. A sidenote, even though there are areas where you can listen to "pony-music" the map contains no pony cardboards or pictures. I had a lot of fun creating the secret area, which is quite well hidden actually.

    I really like this map; it's big, it's got stuff to do, and it's pretty darn accurate to the screens given. I have a couple of suggestions for the map, even though you'll probably never see them... - I like how there are capture points, giving people something to do in the map. However, I'd suggest a few touch ups to the sequence, namely the fact that if blue has four caps, the cap next to blue spawn is unlocked, allowing a sneaky red to cap all the points for red. - A small shack or cave on top of the mountain would be a good place to set up a respawn room. (I'm mostly asking this because I've set up a navmesh for bots, and any time a cap happens while the mountain spawns are active there's a major lag spike as the game looks for a non-existent spawn room.) For the same reason, the red's initial spawn room seems to lack a func_respawnroom.

    Oh snap. Failed again. I thought it's something based on "Adventure Time" on first look (Without looking at pictures) Oh well, still looks good. 10/10

Notes
Here is the short -but true- story how this map has been created. I used to work on an Achievementmap years ago, called Achievement_tiny-huge. This part of the story is too long already so I keep it short, eventually someone found it and put it on their server. The admins and I are still in good contact. In my desperation to finally play Guild Wars 2 I received an offer from 'Cary Grant' (dont rely on that name he changes it daily) telling me he has a job. Sounded like a regular "please make a new version of tiny-huge" request. Surprisingly he had another intention, which was like this "please make appleoosa from my little pony". He wanted to start a trade server back then and looked for an original map, sounds fun and then I started draining my time with this project. This happened January 2012. - Changelog: 27 March 2012 - Version 2
  • Improved the spawnpoint situation, so here it how it works: Blu (the buffalos duh') can now get closer to the town by capping the points. example for the last station: When they reach the cliff, they will spawn on it. Red however doesent have this advantage and stays in the town regardles of their amount of spawnpoints. But hey as red you can still piss blu off.
  • several small bugs i saw on the Bronyville server in a "mass-test": |- nobuildarea at "the frog exit" |- flipped the hat symbol so it fits with the screenshot (woow) |- made a certain teleporter so that it seperates blu and red teleports and they dont get stuck in each other |- fixed that racist bug in the secret room, which only allowed red to use the locker.
  • most important fix: I added a missing part of my name in the secret room.
