This is my interpretation of a dream brought to the GoldSource Engine. To date (Dec2011) I still believe this is my greatest work, surpassing Icarus, Seatemple and my other maps. What this is, is a small mod for Half-Life 1, featuring three consecutive maps where the player finds himself inside a dream and must navigate his way to the end. Some puzzle elements are included. Note that this may not work for hacked version of Half-Life.
Format: Mod |
Game: Half-Life 1 |
Steam only: Possibly |
Single-player: Yes |
Extract all files to Half-Life folder (Not valve folder) this is a stand alone mod. When done, restart steam and on your games list there should be skalscomp28, this is the mod. Launch it and click new game and choose difficulty.
A while back there was a competition on a half-life mapping forum named TWHL. The objective of the competition was to create a dream. It was a very open yet hard competition. My adversaries got the best of me however and I placed third, beaten by two amazing maps. ([See here](http://twhl.info/competitions.php?results=28 "See here"))
My objective in this map was to create the most amazing and impact full dream I could in the somewhat old gold source engine. Some of the greatest entity work has gone into this map, the effects are the best you will see in goldsource, and so are the textures.
If anyone is intrigued by the limitations of this rusty old engine, play this mod and you will find out.
There may be bugs but I have lost the .rmfs to these maps for a long time now. So there will be no support, other than helping you with puzzles and so on.
