A short while ago, Blu corporation realised that sending wave after wave of faithful enlistments at Red was not only non cost effective, but it wasn't working. And so they devised a plan, a plan to end the never ending conflict once and for all, a SUPERWEAPON! After months of planning, a deep underground military base was constructed to create such a weapon away from the watchful eye of the Red corporation. However, during the final hours of construction the Higg's mining corp. Struck a gold mine shaft through part of their base to reveal what they had been fearing, the Red corporation had also been building a superweapon! More specifically, a crudely built wind-turbine with toxic waste strapped to each arm, ready to release tons of toxic waste above the surface of Blu teritory!
Hastily, each teams rushed to create bombs, laid track and prepared to destroy the opposing team's superweapon...

Awesome map. I've downloaded over 100 maps in the past month since I bought Counter Strike Source, there are so many great maps, and also unique ones. I haven't come across a map quite like this yet, I love finding maps that are different. Would have gave it 10/10 if I ratings were still available

I'd say not, have a look at some of the maps over at tf2maps.net some time, a lot of featured releases are way better than this and haven't been featured. I shouldn't think it'd be worth the effort.
Though that being said, somebody could submit the contest link to the tf2 blog after it's finished for some community attention.

Well... they're not :P
the rails are actually over the top of the glass screen that's been layed down as a ceiling (kind of like a large sky-light, but indoors) for the section below it.

Judging by the screenshots, I can tell right off the bat that this definitely isn't a half-assed project someone put together in a few days. The displacements along the cave walls look sexy and give the map that real underground feel that I think Tom was looking for.
I'm also a big fan of Payload, and there aren't a whole lot of great custom PL maps. The layout is quite cool, but one thing I found a bit odd about it is the railtrack crossing over the whole in the ground at the ending cap points. They do help balanace out the gameplay of the map, but I guess I'm not used to seeing rail tracks floating in the sky. :P
The lighting looks great, as does the truck loads of custom content you loaded the map up with to give it the unique feel.
All in all, it looks like a phenomenal release and I think you have a very fair shot at taking the Grand Prize in the D.U.M.B. Contest - Good luck!
