A quick survival map I created...and yes, it was significantly edited from its TileGen version. =P
Basically all marines need to survive for as long as they possibly can. All difficulty modes are supported, but generally speaking this is a very difficult map without at least a couple turrets helping you out.
Map overviews and everything. It's also in VPK format. I'm not that lazy.
Online play works fine, just make sure that all clients have the VPK, otherwise they'll be redirected and won't be able to join.
This map is not worth the effort in downloading. If the mapping community of alien swarm continues in this vain then there will never be any seriously decent maps available to play. Decent maps take time and effort not 1 day after release of the game.
As someone else has said, the map is way too bright. I used incendiary mines and could barely see the flame because the brightness of that area was too strong. Please reduce brightness in future versions.
Also, an armory and first aid room that contains a bunch of different weapons and sentries and such could improve rather than spoil the experience. Cheers.
okay its an awesome map. BUT the map is way to bright at least for me it is. i cant see anything on top of the platform or some areas on the ground. If this is my problem ill try to fix it but if its the map then pleaase fix it! I'm pretty sure that its not my problem because my friend said it was really birhgt too.
Thanks to everyone who has downloaded and played the map. To answer some of the more obvious questions...
No, there is no end to the map. The most kills you can get is around 2000, then a "surprise" is deployed. If you survive the surprise, there's another surprise - one that you surely won't survive. See if you make it to 2000 kills. >=D
I will consider making a new version with a more advanced wave system seeing as it shouldn't be very hard. Just know that adjusting the difficulty of the map before you start will indeed make the map more or less difficult.
Pros: First good survival map.
Cons: Could use more varied spawn locations, Like upper right spawn big bugs can't get out.
Improvements: A good few yet are better pathing
Notes: Just needs some fixes and a dificulty ramp up.
