A Map for Team Fortress 2

The RED team was forced by Remilia Scarlet to defend her mansion from the BLU team.

This is my first map ever and...er.....well, enjoy it anyway!

Note: You need to have the official Swamp theme downloaded. You can dl it on http://swamp.tf2maps.net/ .

Thank you to those who kept on cheering me up when I was trying to make it, to those who gave me some ideas, to those who tried the earlier versions (which aren't on FPS Banana), and to those who will try it now :)

There is a lot more in my map than what you can see on the screencaps so please, give it a try!

    I will soon add a text document to the zip with a short fanfic explaining some of the backstory. For short, the REDs "can't" go inside the mansion, nor can they escape the outside walls, until they push back the BLU attack. Nevertheless, I'm planing a pl_SDM inside the mansion with the BLU pushing a giant cake to Remilia, but that's another story. About the mpty part on the right, Instead of only adding trees (which would make the game slower) I'm planing of adding a little extra by reducing the island on this side so the BLU will require Cirno's help to go across the walls. Anyway, this will be in the next version (which will be "SDM_0i"). About the blu Spawn, a big wood boat could be nice, but I have already some other ideas. "Some players play around instead of killing and going for map objectives, and it would make the map more versatile." That's one of the aspects of my map, I want it to be both fun, and to have a real gameplay. Later maybe, I will create another version without any objectives and more easter eggs that the players will have to find. Anyway, I hope to release the final version within two month (after SDM_0i and maybe a SDM_0j) under the name "cp_Scarlet_Devil_Island" (aka SDM_1a). "P.S., out of curiosity, is the secret area supposed to be Flandre's room or something? It's in a fitting location..." Er... The secret room isn't Flandre's room. In fact the RED spawn is located already below the basement. More info at the next update ;)

    I've been waiting for this ever since I heard of it's production, and I'm impressed. Great work for your first map. PROS: It retains the "touhou" feel while working very well as a TF2 battlefield, and it's about as "scarlet" as anyone could ever want. Visually appealing, and all-around good design. CONS: the one side of the island is empty, BLU spawn area isn't clearly defined, no access to inside of the Mansion. IMPROVEMENTS: Instead of removing some of the empty area, why not add things to it? Maybe a secondary building or some fancy gardens, etc. Maybe have a single large boat as BLU spawn? It might be a pain, but it'd make things more intuitive. Also, I would LOVE to have some of the inside of the mansion accessible. Some players play around instead of killing and going for map objectives, and it would make the map more versatile. Overall it's a great map. Can't wait to see where it goes from here! ---EDIT--- Well, that clears up alot. I'm glad to hear that other versions and similar maps are planned, I'm especially looking forward to that payload map. Good luck and good mapping!

    About the missing textures and models, sorry I forgot to tell that you must have downloaded the official swamp theme on http://swamp.tf2maps.net/ . The death by falling into pit inside of the mansion will be more explicit on further versions. I will work on it. The right side of the island is a part on which I haven't worked at all. I think that i will reduce it. The BLU "respawn room" is the whole beach. Another thing that I need to make more explicit. Oh, and about the music in the secret room: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MrmXW3JHViw I will upload a better version within a week. edit: Here are already a few modifications.

    Pros: Spooky, the RED spawn area is cool, the skybox is great, the secret is pretty interesting and kind of hard to find. Cons: Everything red makes it weird Some textures doesn't show (The inside part of the castle, why is it there if you can't reach it?) Some models show as error (Picture 1, the boats and the sing, i think that it's a sing) and it's very empty on the right side. Improvements: Make it less red, fix the inside part of the castle (Which you can't even get inside) Put some props on the right side of the map, cause it looks pretty bland. Also, put something that make the BLU players to know where to change class is safe, cause the spawn is on the middle of none where and make the player think that they will die if they change of class, maybe you should make a normal spawn room for BLU, and make them teleport to the beach area. Notes: The secret was pretty cool the gameplay is good, but the red lights are way too red and hurt player's eyes. I was wondering why the 49MB, but it was worth the download, the custom music is great, but you can barely hear the secret music with the map music. Keep it up

    Should tone the color correction down to a orange color, it would make it more spooky, instead of a hot red, that will hurt players eyes.
