A medium size forest themed aim map

Well i think this map is finally done. although it hasn't been that long since i started it only about 3 - 4 weeks. I was playing it with a bot for a while it was pretty fun. there is a nav file included . download, assess, stamp, enjoy

    hmm your getting that problem too are you, thats really weird cause those should be default textures. ill change them and see if that helps.

    Can't play CS:S on this PC right now so I can't test it but judging from the screens I can tell you a couple of things.

    First of all your environment lighting is odd. Way too dark.
    Secondly, I can see that you have some bugs regarding the lighting on some of your bushes. Try both prop_detail and prop_static and see which one works best.
    Thirdly, the horizontal parts of the wooden railings at the house should be lowered in my opinion. The look too thick.

    The map however looks really fun and nice. The house gives a really nice touch and the smooth cliffs are just beautiful.

    If you wanna keep the environmental lighting dark, I would suggest a night theme.

    The map is ok right now since it has some problems but I'm sure that you can make it awesome with just 2 more hours of work.

    I hope you work on it again.

    ya for those bushes i tried disabling the shadows and stuff, that didn't work so ill try setting them as prop details.
    for the lighting i could move the target the light environment is pointing at a little closer, so the light isn't angled as much which should light up more areas. and the railing is like a 30 second fix.
    thanks for the tips so far ill wait for a bit more criticism before i release a second version

    Hi Mastergun!
    nice idea with this map! But I think you have to do some other work to fix some errors and to optimize it.

    PROS:
    - the twilight ambiance with particles and trees
    - the use of displcements and the water with fishes
    - nice use of trees and debris

    CONS:
    - missing texture!!! (the one that covers the roof and the stairs)
    you have to pack it into the bsp

    - some errors while loading:
    --> Error reading in file "materials/models/props_foliage
    /tree_deciduous_01a_leaves.vtf"
    --> prop_physics 'models/props_foliage/tree_slice01.mdl' has a base specified as 'Wooden_Unbreakable.Huge', but there is no matching entry in propdata.txt.
    -->Invalid terrorist spawnpoint at (-640.3,120.0,120.0)

    - There's no really good optimization..when I'm in the first house the engine renders also the other, even if it's not visible..try using hint/skip textures to hide it. It will increase the fps. This can be done also with some trees that the player cannot see while standing by the cavern or when he is in.

    - There's an error with alignment in the diplacement that seals the entrance of the cavern.

    I know you can fix this stupid things in a hour.
    Update the map and so I give you feedback.
