I made a mod called Unused soft grunts for characters Falco, Fox, Ganondorf, Ike, Kirby, Lucario and Ness. Sadly I never got around to providing a showcase since i dont own a capture card or any sort of recording system.
Well today i want to provide an almost complete script fix to smash 4
ALL OF THIS IS 100% WIFI SAFE
1 frame activation for all the of characters (excludes the silent cast.)
If you didn't know majority of the characters have a 2 frame pain yell activation expect for Luigi, Ryu with 3 frame activation and Rosalina with a 10 frame.
So this 1 frame fix gives every character a immediate pain yell (example when using Cloud's Finishing Touch and when it lands the pain yell will activate upon hitting them instead of waiting for the hitlag/animation to finish)
Next is Corrin's script error fix/soundseq This was discovered by XamadFP by figuring out that vanilla smash 4 put their pain yell scripts false instead of true. A simple fix was made by him and i adjusted it to be 1 frame. It also comes with a soundseq file. Not sure what that is? i'll explain. Soundseq (Sound sequence) is a special file that tells the game using the corresponding sounds from a nus3bank. The Corrin's had a soft grunt in their pain yell section. (which XamadFP had trouble figuring out if it was script related) I removed it so that all the time their pain yell can play instead of their soft grunt cycling with it.
The unused soft grunts Like i mentioned before with my previous mod Falco, Fox, Ganondorf, Ike, Kirby, Lucario and Ness have unused damage01 soft grunts. I finally provided for all of you a sample of what you would hear. I provided the English and Japanese for Falco, Fox, Ike and Lucario. Addition to that Melee (for Fox only) Brawl (Falco, Fox and Ness) If you have any of their sound mods. Again its only the unused sample you'll hear so you get the idea how it works. I made sure it that you hear both the unused and the second one as well. If you dont hear it as frequently i believe its just smash 4's programming works.
Lastly, Miscellaneous SFX additions
I added to Mario, Luigi, Mewtwo, Bayonetta, Marth, Jigglypuff, Zelda and Yoshi some added SFX
Mario: Has a sound effect for using his cape (Just like in Melee.) Its a unused sound
Luigi: Has a sound effect for a Misfire, an unused sound (4XM used this)
Mewtwo: I provided a edited soundseq so he isn't as silent when getting launched. If hes completely silent and doesnt have any voice remove the mod and repack it.
Bayonetta: She has 4-5 pain yells I edited her soundseq file to only play 2 and the ones that suited for her to be "less" annoying (up to you if you want this)
Marth: The Marth script i've provided has Marth's Counter quotes. you'll hear 2 out of 3 due to Smash 4's programming. Melee Marth voice is recommended for this to properly work. (All credits towards _D0ct0r_)
Jigglypuff: I provided a special mix of Japanese Jigglypuff and English Jigglypuff. Soft grunts are her Japanese voice, pain yells are her English voice. Star KO is her Melee one (Thanks to JudgeSpear)
Yoshi: i provided back a fix for Yoshi's Down-B (Ground Pound) I also added a soundseq file, Yoshi uses his DamageFly02 as his Damage02 i removed it so only his first soft grunt only works. Thanks to Mario and Sonic Guy he provided extra scripts for Yoshi's custom moves and with the down-B fix it feels 100% complete (maybe add a offline flutter jump fix for your tournaments/weeklies?)
All of the scripts goes in smashexplorer under fighter- character name - script - animcmd - body Any voices/soundseq files go into fighter- character name - sound
I want to thank everyone on this site for making me interested in modding. This is my final mod i'll post. If any problems or issues please dont hesitate to ask me questions!
Forgot to mention: But I think you should consider looking at Zelda's Up B and Side B. Make it like it used to be in Melee. (Instead of just merging the SFX & Voice clips together in one sound.) Just a suggestion. Its fine if ya don't want to.
1 Issue I know you tried to make Marth's Dancing blade the same as melee, but his second side voice is not the same. Other than that its fine. I did question if its possible to make the counter quotes work like lucina and roy, but thats hard coded I suppose.
I do question if making a seperate pack for the grunts and eliminate the 1 frame yell, but of course, that's your desicion.
For some reason it gave me a texture error when playing in battlefield and the game froze. I don't know why since I didn't add textures. Just testing how this works over all.
Edit: It seems Captain Falcon animcmd is misplaced compared to the rest of the cast (which I know how to handle), but maybe others don't so maybe you should check that out.
Wow, this is a bit over my head but "unused sounds"? Woah, you got my attention. I'll definitely try this out, anything that took a lot of work with the intention of fixing or improving the game deserves major recognition.
