  • Made the MTB actually get generated on each run(it only kinda did this before) this should hopefully fix the last of the issues that are had with this.

INSTALL PYTHON 2.7

This is a script that will automatically texidfix all the skins you have installed, and set them to the correct IDs for that slot. This fixes issues where the character turns red, or where in a mirror match, both fighters are identical. Additionally, the script contains a few extra functions, such as backing up your workspace (recommneded), MTB fixing voice banks to avoid muting issues in mirror matches, and more.

To install, unzip the package and then put the py file into Sm4shExplorer's base folder. Also, make sure that your workspace folder is named "workspace." The script has an automatic update function, so if a new update is available, it will download and install it without you having to manually download it. If you are updating from the old, non-Python version, delete all files from the original version of the script.

To run, double-click the py file, then follow the on-screen instructions.

Also make sure that each skin contains both a model.nut and model.nud, along with a metal.nud. Otherwise, the script may fail to fix these characters.

NOTE: Since the upgrade to Python, addons have not yet been implemented back into the script.

Make sure you're on the latest version, and read through past comments to see if someone else has already had your issue.

Why isn't this specific skin working?
It's probably something with the particular skin. If the idfix breaks the skin, let us know – in the meantime, use the exempt feature.

Why are all of my skins "unable to be idfixed?"
Make sure that the skins are not compressed, and that both the nud and nut are present (as well as metal.nud). Failing that, contact the original mod creator, and failing that, let us know so we can check it out.

Your script broke all of my skins! 0/10 will not use again!
That's what the backup feature is for.

What is the base folder of Sm4shExplorer?
The folder which contains the Sm4shExplorer program, the workspace folder, and everything else. Your workspace and the py should be in the same folder.

The script is in the base folder, but it still says it's in the wrong place!
Make sure you're using the latest version of Sm4shExplorer, and make sure that your workspace folder is named "workspace." If you're using an old version, try moving the contents of your workspace folder to workspace\content\patch in the new version.

The MTB fix says the MTB doesn't exist!
Extract the fightermodelbanktable.mtb file from data > sound > config in Sm4shExplorer, then add it back in as a mod file.

    do the fixed files end up somewhere or are they implemented in workspace? I tried this and I ended up with 3 of the exact same costume

    Is it possible to write a text file or something that tells this tool to assign a single voice/sound bank to multiple costumes? Right now, I have 3 voice banks and 2 sound banks for custom Sonic skins, but as I have 8 costumes for each, I need to either manually set up stuff using other advanced-to-use scripts, or duplicate the voice/sound banks 8 times. As I do the latter, I have 40 voice/sound banks for custom Sonic skins, when I only really need to have 5 different voice/sound banks in total.

    so correct me if im wrong here but i went to my sm4sh explorer root, and wanted to exclude a few mods. so i put my fighter model in:
    exempt->content->patch->data->fighter->model->body->c00 
    (i assume actual fighter goes beyond fighter so: fighter -> mario -> model -> body -> c00)

    i copied the same folders and added it to the exempt folder in other workspaces. but i always get all my characters fixed. where did i go wrong?

    Does this work on two sounds on the same character

    for example Trump voice and Shrek voice for Ganondorf

    I'm not sure if this is an issue with particular skins or what, but this seems to mess up the textures for morton's kart model in his body folder. I've noticed this happens to two morton skins I've tried it on, maybe there is an issue with the script. Just thought I'd point that out.

    I recently deleted my extract files. I re-extracted the fightermodelbanktable.mtb but every time I try to start up the Mass TexIDFix, it brings up the usual black box, takes about 20 seconds, then brings up a whole page of text that isn't up for more than a second (I can't make out any of the text). I tried to find similar errors but couldn't find any. Can you think of any solutions? Thanks in advance!

    Since installing this and updating Sm4shExplorer, when I try to build the mod, it won't build, in the bottom Message box of Sm4shExplorer I get a Debug Script Error that says the following:

    Not sure what file it's trying to find and what "Exception" is referring to. Anyone have any ideas?
