Upgrade your Debug Mode experience with this mod! Debug Mode+ adds support for choosing which monitor you place, as well as a revamped HUD that respects modded HUDs. It also includes an alternate control scheme that can be enabled in the settings.
Controls:Press the Y button ('W' key) to move forward through the monitor list. Hold Y and press the B button (D key, or Genesis C button) to go backward through the list.
For alternate controls, hold the X button ('A' key or Genesis 'A' button) and press Left or Right to scroll through the objects list. Hold X and press Up or Down to scroll through the monitor list.
OPTIONS, toggleable in the in-game settings menu:
- Revamped control scheme. Uses the X button (Genesis A button) and the d-pad to select objects
- Revamped HUD. Uses the assets from HUD mods (and some custom assets for the debug numbers, which can be modified via sprite mods). Can be disabled to use the vanilla or script-modded HUD (with the addition of the monitor selector).
- Always show (custom) Debug HUD. When the custom debug mode HUD is enabled, this option will have it show at all times, much like it did on the Genesis (debug mode must be enabled)
Compatibility:The mod should be 100% compatible with any HUD mods that aren't script-based. V2.0 also adds support for script-based HUD mods without disabling the revamped HUD, though this may not work with all mods. This mod must be given higher priority than script-based HUD mods in order for them to function properly.
It should also be compatible with any mod that adds custom monitors (however this isn't guaranteed).
HUD mods can also change the sprites used for the debug icons through sprite modding. To do this, copy the sprites' .json and modify the
hud_debug_smalldigits.pngas needed. Include this in your HUD mod the same way you would any other sprite mod.
