Guarded Memories

"It could be that if you visit the locations within those pictures, you will be able to restore some of your lost memories."

Protectors of the Soul adds twelve groups of enemies, or 'protectors', onto the map. These are enemy groupings, or enemies carrying weapons, that do not normally occur in Breath of the Wild. They have been designed to roughly increase in difficulty as the player progresses through the memories in order.

The locations of the Protectors are near the memories attached to ten of the photo memories (Memory's 1 and 8 were excluded due to already being high difficulty and the difficulty of modding the area around Hyrule Castle). Two sets of Protectors guard the Eleventh photo memory (due to their being two obvious paths towards it.) Finally, the most difficult challenge awaits on the path toward the Lost Woods.

My intention is to not only provide enjoyable encounters not seen in the base game, but also to encourage the player to experience the story of the memories in chronological order.

A number of these challenges involve Lynels, because fighting sets of Lynels is very fun. However, Lynels are designed to be fought solo. Therefore, I have included nerfed Red Lynels to only have 1000 HP each. All other Lynels - including the Mount Ploymus Red Lynel - are untouched.

A number of changes have been made to roughly half of the encounters, hopefully to better give enemies the space they need to roam.

This mod was made with Hyrule Rebalance in mind, and some enemy groups may seem unbalanced if played in Vanilla BotW (especially the seventh photo memory).
