Vertibird v2.0

A Crafted Creation for Besiege

Vertibird assault aircraft and troop transporter for the Enclave, brought into fantastic indie Besiege!

This build is an improvised undertaking to construct a Vertibird, the famous aircraft that makes multiple appearances in Fallout 2, Fallout 3 and Fallout New Vegas. Ultimately, in following this goal, innovation and pushing the boundaries has produced something remarkable and hopefully will help future players with their creations. The machine utilises and is built around an internal stabilisation mechanism, greatly improving controllability and stability, something similar to a gyroscope. There is now a landing mode, making it easier to control during landings, or any time the machine is on the ground. This mode restricts rotor movement and employs multiple sets of retractable landing gear for cushioning. Weapons offerings have been expanded as well, now carrying 6 bombs, 16 cannons and 4 flamethrowers. The flamethrowers are downward pointing and have retractable mounts for scorching while hovering. The engines also have enough power to carry all of the above and still be able to withstand the forces exerted upon them during hard turns and dives. This entire package was meant to all fit inside the bounding box to be able to be used during missions with the only limiting factor being the rotor blades, another version will fix this problem at a later stage. Controls: Up: Rotate rotors forward Down: Rotate rotors backward Left: Turn left Right: Turn right T: Increase rotor speed G: Decrease rotor speed L: Toggle landing mode Y: Toggle flamers [1-6]: Drop bombs F: Fire front cannon arrays H: Fire back cannon arrays YouTube video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ijkx9zbnE7Y

I am currently working on improving this design for a third revision release. Focus is being put more so on handling and usability as well as reducing structural complexity making it far less CPU intensive. Hopefully with the work Spiderling are doing updating to Unity 5 will significantly improve the algorithms required to compute physics. GPU usage would be a nice addition too.

Notes
I plan to make another version that has the same capabilities as v2.0 as well as being able to fit inside the bounding box so that it can be used for missions as well.
