So, just a couple'a days ago, during one rainy night, a power surge occurred. Just after the surge, my main rig's monitor got itself that dreaded pink hue. I thought, "oh well, the VGA cable's broke again" and tried to adjust it, which was when I realized, this wasn't a good idea after all...
The monitor rapidly began to lose display, blinking in and out, as well as the power going off and on at an extremely rapid rate. I turned off the system altogether and left it that way for a day, after which the monitor began to work fine, or... so I thought.
Then, out of the blue, the power problem came back. It'll rapidly receive and lose power, causing the green LED to blink over and over again. Many suggested that my graphic's card was dead, but I disproved it by testing the monitor out on different PC's and on it's own (With the VGA disconnected) It'll usually turn itself on after a few blinks, but as the days passed, the problem got to the point that yesterday, it freaking REFUSED to even receive power.
Took it to the repairs and got myself a temporary replacement until mine's fixed. Today I went there to check on that and according to them, the VGA Card is dead (they refer to the circuits as 'cards'), which is really sad and actually damn impressive at the same time.
I bought my rig back in 2010. For these 11 years, the original PC died, it's replacement died, the original keyboard died, and the mouse is probably swapped a ton. This monitor impressively survived for a decade straight.
I'll update this when I'll get the news of it being fixed or not.
Damn.. My old CRT still works like a charm, my brother bought it back in 2001. Although rn it's not in my possession but in the hands of my cousin. I love using it everytime I visit him given that I used it myself for 15 years before giving it away..
