I received Tutorial Writer of the Month, August. And I felt really happy, lol. To be honest, I don't feel like getting it again, but I will keep writing tutorials. If someone wants to vote, then let them vote. If someone doesn't vote, I'm fine with it. Awards like these are pretty attractive, but...
You should realise one thing. It's just like having a trophy on a shelf.
It only means the past. What matters is now, and now you need to produce content, otherwise the future won't look so good.
Don't worry, it's just a "trophy on the wall". ;) You should care what others say about your work, not what the trophies say.
I know, it's kinda addicting. The first time I became Gamefiler of the Month I also got addicted to it, and with being featured and whatnot. After that the first month I lost the title I was also really bummed. But don't worry, it will pass.
The moment I realized all these accolades are messing up my mind on modding I immediately tried to stop caring for them. I just focused on sharing quality content to people, nothing more. Awards are just little bonuses but I can live without them. It's worked great for me so far.
You're a great compiler, man. No award can take that away from you...
If you want to be the skinner of the month, you have to ask for it in your submissions. The truth is people don't care too much about who is the (whatever)er of the month. Besides, this is a popularity medal, it's not directly related with the skills or the productivity. If this helps, in this month you were the most active member and if the section is still alive, is in a big part due to your works, much thanks for existing.
