Beard of Unnecessary Evil

So evil it comes with a free hat!

Mostly done- Still needs flexes and the texture could possibly use some touch up (Only have a mouse and I'm not good with original organic textures). Looking for critique or advice (Though, the model itself is complete- Not likely I'll be making changes.)

Textures are currently 512x512, but the final will be scaled to 256x256 (No real loss in information, except maybe some noise in the hat.)

Polys: 1694 faces (No LODs currently)

Texture: 512x512 DTX5 with alpha mask for phong

Not much more to say.

Obviously, if your familiar with a certain show of sorts, possibly about a high school teacher poisoning kids and doing train heists- this may look familiar to you.

...But I assure you, my lawyer, Hector Greatguy, has assured me that my content is "similar, but legally distinct" from any such copyrighted material. And he would know.

This makes certain types of facial hair items suddenly possible.

    Still needs flexes

    This is possible?

I know, seems crazy. See, an equipped item that carries the same flex animations (In the corresponding order of it's parent model- in this case the Engineer's flex for "AE" has to be placed in the same frame as the child model (The hat/misc model)) will react according to it's parent model. (in this case, the Engineer) This seems to be a relativity new finding, or it's just now being put into practice (Check Napy, he's the one who out-lined how to do this in Blender, which is what I currently know best)

See, what you have to do is import each flex from the model (morphs _ high.dmx, or morphs _ low.dmx) into a usable reference- The easiest way to do this is to manually setup each shape key for the correct frame, and then use that reference for each frame. Then you just gotta know how to make flexes (And in this case, it has to match the mesh of the parent so there are no seams)

    • "Breaking Beard"
    • "The Uncertainty Principle"

    Or less obvious:

    • "The Lab-Rat's Lid"
    • "The Brains Bristle"
    • "The Genius' Guise" or alternatively, "The Genius' Goatee"

    That's about all I've got.

Aw, you hwurt my fwellins'. Seriously though, I understand completely. Name is not finalized (Though, it's unlikely I'll name it Heisenberg, too obvious in my opinion) and I've had some other ones on my mind; such as "Uncertainty something/hat/beard/etc." or something of that nature. Particularly, I want to focus the beard and simply consider the hat an extra, cause I find that funny. On the hat itself I made some mistakes (such as the top section, there's only suppose to be one "pop" at the top, but it's cut into two sections by a clothing fold (my terminology is atrocious- it's something like that) But I think I'll keep it that way. The beard was originally suppose to be crossed with facial textures that was suppose to give the beard a more "unmanageable" appearance. But this looked terrible and obvious, so a full beard with a somewhat subtle gradient with an additional layer made using phong was my compromise.

The name was (currently) chosen because it reflects Walt's nature and the symbolism of his goatee and how more full it becomes as his actions become more, and more wrong and deplorable. And how a lot of his actions are unnecessary and could of been solved seasons ago and he wouldn't be a meth lord.
