Shiro's Monado - 1st (Xenoblade)

The Monado from Xenoblade, hopefully be modeled to high quality and god precision.

Info on the Monado

The Monado is a powerful energy blade that can manipulate the ether (A source of energy for all living and non living things) around it, and with it, change the material and inmaterial shape of the world. The use of the Monado depends on the will of its user; most Homs (Colony Humans) who try to use the sword can't control it.

There is 3 forms of the Monado as the protagonists of xenoblade grow. Currently, I'm modeling the 1st shackled verson. Im curious on what I can use this project for, and how I can create the energy beam that is suppost to be used as the actual sword...

    That's actually a very effective method. Another method that could be done is to make a slightly larger version of the section that has the plasma effect and provide a more transparent texture for it to use. It's a bit more tedious to some people, but I've found it to work out just as effectively.
