FN FAL New Reloading Anim

My FAL model with some textures, on my rig of the CSS hands. Anyone is welcome to texture/animate when I release this.

Update shot #2: attack of the tints and the noises and super light

Update Added to textures. Vid 2: below

Update Chamber, reload tweaks. Shot 1: normal. Shot2: fullbright/shadeless

Reloading video, simple, HL inspired, nothing crazy:

New reload animation rough draft:

I know about the left side texturing, but sacrifices must be made! Chamber will be added, shadow will be added to the inside of receiver and magazine.

I Will Compile This One For GoldSource....

If you take the model - that will be really senseless work...

By the topic: i really like this model and bake is great. Texture isn't bad, it needs more work.

But those random 1px scratches on the receiver are fake and handpainted in my opinion. On your place i'd like to remove them.

    Keep up the good work!

alright chill guys, i was wrong, i am just a redneck, don't mind me

OT: Keep up the the work arby26, you sure know how to animate. The last update on reload, it's been tweaked, i can see that, but it lacks some aggression. Movements are smooth but kind of a bit dull on the magout, needs more force maybe ? On bolt release and magin it looks fine though. I really like the V2 reload

You don't need to explain. I just assumed wrong.

I assumed the FAL was more along the AK side of things considering it's age. It's not a new rifle at all, dates back to 1940's, which is pre-AR platform which is pretty cool historically. So I didn't expect it to have a feature that modern. Thompson SMG's were still in service at that time, and that's a real testament to how old this rifle really is.

Just think, the BAR operates in a similar fashion (albeit on an open bolt design) and it was designed in 1917!

I don't think the any of the FALs have a bolt catch as such... unless this is a modified version?

It does, but what worries me is that part of the bolt on the left, the grip, isn't moving. That should be locked back too on the last round.

Why does it worry you? And no, the charging handle on the FAL doesn't move. Generally, the only time a charging handle will move is if it is directly attached to the bolt. On weapons like the M16/M4 family, B.A.R., and this FAL here, the charging handle only cocks the bolt back.

Imagine if the M16 family of weapons' charging handle was directly attached to the bolt. You'd get punched in the face with every round. Ouch!

And yeah.. Kalasnikov88. What are you talking about, do you even know what a WiP is? I think you've been here long enough to know that in the WiP stage criticism is very important. You don't crit the final product, that would be really retarded.

You're in the wrong here, you should just move on.

I can't quote for some reason, but when did I ever flame you Kalasnikov88?

OT: It's looking good arby. The mag drop seems prefect now. I'm loving the movements overall, and the only thing that bothers me is the bolt close. It still seems anlittle slow; just my opinion.

    Keep it up.

w/e, somebody thinks i am trolling or sth, or just posting stupid comments xD How can you crit a draft ? :D

You ARE posting stupid comments. The whole point of posting WIP videos is to get feedback on how it is coming along and how it could be improved.

So, instead of freaking out on a quality animator for providing some C&C, post something useful yourself.

Ok, someone seems to act like mister "i know all the shit" What i meant at first was, he posted a draft, i am sure he was aware of the mistakes he made in the animation process, don't you think ? it's like giving crits to a movie trailer And stop stamping my posts, that's lame. See, it's not my problem that some people don't seem to understand what i mean, this proves once again that u GB l33t users are full of shit, instead of asking what i meant, you just stamp my post and insult me, plus win-zip goes into almost flaming me, now how's that ?

You still aren't posting anything useful, and your inferiority complex is showing.

Now please stop spamming arby's WIP.

Newest reloads are looking good, just needs a little smoothing out in some areas. For example, after he pulls the mag out, his hand reaches for another one pretty quickly.

    Overall, looking good!

So the FAL does have a bolt catch... I stand corrected.

    Carry on.
