Pete's Winchester Ortho

Here it is so we can discuss it.

I've left out the extra bullet attachments as of now because I figure that they should be modeled separately (in case we want to make them optional attachments, more ammo = more weight).

What exactly is the problem with the grip/trigger? Is it not shaped correctly or is it too far back?

PS: Leaving this public atm

I was actually thinking I'd go straight to vector. I'm better at that than I am at pencil sketching (as you might have noticed, I'm godawful at the latter).

That might be the best course of action. I have no experience with guns (and their design for that matter) so I don't really know how to approach the problem. If you can get a rough side-view sketch of what it should look like, I can touch it up and vectorize it.

I might just go ahead and whip up a quick remix. I have a few ideas of my own.

I think the end of the barrel, the grip, middle part and stock could be longer. Use the reference of a normal shotgun behind it to balance it out a bit. Yeah, the grip is rather weird, but you could fix that.

I can do it, don't worry. I see what's wrong now, so I'll move the trigger forward and the grip back (relative to each other).

Dai is 100% correct about that trigger. I can't even imagine how annoying it would be to pull, as your hand would need to move off the grip to pull it all the way back

Look at the grip and the trigger and you tell me what's wrong. The trigger's inside the grip. How is any human being expected to shoot that thing? I'd be hard pressed even to fit my finger inside the trigger guard comfortably, much less shoot the thing. This weapon violates fundamental firearm ergonomics.

No matter. I'll run a quick redesign on this weapon as soon as I get back home.

Is the problem with the trigger and grip the relative distance between the trigger (index finger) and the grip (rest of hand) or just its general shape (i.e. too small or wrong angle)? I'm completely lost as to what is wrong.

'After' doesn't look that different (i.e. it doesn't solve the problem at hand).
